Lovely and murky and looking a little complex too. Thanks so much for making me aware of this gylyf

I saw that in the doppelgänger, but didn't want to correct you - I like your name better (and my "melon" totally looks like "melow"!). :)

This color looks stunning. However I guess I might not enjoy the flow and weak lubrication. Have you ever used Lie de The? If yes how would you compare flow and feel of these two inks?

I haven't used Lie de Thé in years (like, more than a decade, actually :yikes:), so I'm hesitant to go on my vague memories of the ink. I can tell you this: I was using Melon Tea with an Aurora nib in my Conid, and the nib's tooth may have been just too much for the ink to lubricate, so I'll try it in a couple of different nibs and report back.

I find Robert Oster inks are INCREDIBLE dependent on paper and pen.... Is almost shocking how different they look in different papers... and broad/fine, wet/dry nibs..

Here is a pic on my very wet flex pen. :puddle: :puddle:

That's gorgeous, Claudia! That's why I'm determined to find a pen that will get along with it. Edited by gylyf

Mine is in a Noodlers' Ahab, an "Apache Tortoise," that looks like it was "made for this ink," a very murky looking pen. It is a nice wet writer & I am currently using the sample spiral bound book from the WHITE LINES, that was mentioned here. THEY are a nice fit for the ink, if others are NOT, there is always our friend, Photo Flo. I was VERY happy to discover this ink when I was ordering, Mr. Oster's DIRECT SUN & "spied it." The two ink's arrival made a VERY good DAY!

(A Later surprise was the Akkerman Great Masters, Dous Emerald, which is a MUCH nicer color than I had expected. It is not everyday you order 3 inks & like them ALL!)

Nice one. I like the faint green seen best in your second last image (the writing close-up at about 45°).

@Gylyf: Thank you for the review. Do you think this ink is closer to Cigar, Kjellmaniella, Doujima Ryokkin and Rikyu-cha than the inks you have posted it's swatch with? I say this because it is easier to get than the 3/4 sailors I mentioned and dryness can be resolved by Photoflo?

The mixture of capitalized letter, parenthesis and excessive quotations mark actually make it harder to read your posts. I think they would be much easier to read if you type normally, unless of course the current format is normal for you. Edited by BCGGSM

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
