Best Paper Reams For Everyday Use.

HP 32lb isn't cheap. 15USD for 300 sheets (because it's literally thicker sheets).

When I was in college, I took paper from the recycling bins, and just used one side. easier to study that way.

I buy for $10/500 sheets from Amazon.

While this won't help the original poster, I just bought the 32lb HP paper for $9.39 with free shipping at $25. Shipping is $2 for a single ream and nothing else in the order.

For the original poster, is Hammermill paper available in Italy? It seems like I recall using it in Germany. The premium Hammermill Laser and Copier papers may be a good solution for you. I should note that paper in Europe was always an issue for me due to the high recycled paper content and the lack of bleaching in commonly available papers, at least in Germany and the Netherlands.

I did find many very nice, but expensive, papers with linen and other fibers in them from the UK and German regions though I'm sure France and Italy have there own premium papers as well.

On a quest for better pencils and pens in rural East Texas. :)

For mid- and southern Europe, there is Mondi ColorCopy 90gsm uncoated paper. The price should be somewhere between 6-8 EUR per ream, but be careful-a lot of unscrupulous vendors ask about 17 EUR per ream, as is the price for coated, silk finish version. This one, top left:

ColorCopy Style, a 90gsm uncoated paper in natural white is also quite decent (lower left). You can write very fast and very comfortably, as the paper is very slick, but still with a tiny bit of feedback.

There´s no great matter about things in your hands.

Important is, how can you use them.

I don't doubt it. The finish on the paper is indeed quite important. But all other things being equal, the thicker the paper, by the same maker and with the same finish, the better it will resist bleed-thru.

How I wish that were really true, like I said, I have 20 pound that is terrible (it bleeds as well as spreads, I should have said so earlier) and 16 pound that is great.....I suppose if you make paper heavy enough, sure, but then it would make staying in the 1 oz. limit for postage very, very difficult.

I, too, have to disagree. I tried a number of Fuji-Xerox papers, in weights from 80 gsm to over 100. Some were smooth, others a little rough, from cheap copy papers to expensive presentation papers.

The best of the lot was one of the cheaper papers - the 85 gsm copy paper.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
