What Indian Pens Are You Using Today - 2025?

This week's hero is Click Yen in Black and Maroon ebonite. With the GP nib, clip and the rings it is a beauty to behold. The shape too. It is a medium sized pen and now with the supplied convertor. I am overwhelmed with the beauty and the workmanship. The barrel to section transition step is smoothened out. However, I am not sold on the nib that is a Jowo M. Very broad for a M and scratchy on regular A4 papers unlike the desi Ambitious or KW that for writes smooth on any paper. This Jowo needs thick and slick paper to write smooth.

Thank you.

I use regular(non-spiral) softcover notebooks, and have no issues writing with the nib. Also it's a very smooth nib to write with. If there is any hesitation, then best to go with their more rounded nib profiles like Regular Stub and Cursive Italic 👍

It's great that it writes on soft cover notebooks. That's lovely. I think crisp italic generally gives the best line variation . So it should be fine. Let me await my turn for a Krishna

I had an ASA pen in clear acrylic that looked a little bit like an over sized Lamy 2000.

I sold it like a fool. Does anyone know what this might have been?

ASA Sniper. It's their semi-hooded designed pen.

No idea, though that model does pop up in Indian pen groups every now and then. Best to ask them directly 👍

Thanks. It looks like they do not. I'll have to look for a used one.

They told you that? Or you only checked their website? I'm asking because their website, and their stock displayed on it, isn't always up-to-date. Best to message/email Mr.Subramaniam from ASA pens directly. In case you want his WhatsApp number just let me know. Will message you if so.

I did just look on the website.  I'll message him. Thanks again.

Broad is the maximum offered on this nib design.

And this other nib design is only available in Fine. One can also get this one grinded for Extra Fine at additional cost.

It is a beautiful pen indeed.

But that Jowo did not WOW me at all. It is sure to be replaced. Did not like it a bit. I never expected Jowo could be such a disappointment. The nib on my KW Legacy is so much better. F is a nail but smooth too. M is smooth with no grinding noise like this Jowo.

I tried on very smooth and thicker paper too..same kind of toothy feeling.

Jowo is not for me. I can pull it out, so would replace it. Earlier too, on ASA Daily Schmidt had been a disappointment for me.

Tried to replace Jowo with the KW and Click Renaissance nibs. Huge gap between the feed and nib  . That Jowo's tines were not aligned at all. QA of Jowo is so bad?? Nor Click did check the pen after assembly????

i suppose replacing the entire unit with a kw one is the easiest way forward. Their jowo threaded units work very well.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
