The first years, but it has a normal F nib no drama. OK for the office job, alas that became 99% digital and for fun it is a too boring nib

That is also my general problem with modern fountain pens: they may look beautiful, but typically nibs are boring. I have two MB 146: the green one from the 1950s and one from the 1980/1990s, and the newer one is just so boring to write with that I never use it. The green 146 is regularly in rotation, as it has a sublime nib

Today my 147 Traveler M nib. It’s a magical story but I suffered for many years with this pen with flow issues and needing to tap the top of the pen to get the cartridge to flow every time I wanted to use it. Then a period where only Mystery Black cartridges would work fairly well. Then, that not working. I did cleanings over the years and had sent it out a few times (learned the hard way, pricey and they don’t solve miscellaneous problems) as this pen is from the 90s. I did my own cleaning a few times as it’s easy to pull the nib and feed and cleaned them up and the section area. I presume one of them worked as it’s working normal and starting right up. Here’s my baby with the case and unused original cartridges. I bought this in the late 90s from Fahrney’s. 😄. I’m using Irish Green today and never realized how great an ink it is as it’s fairly dark and saturated.

There's a flock of Nib Wizards out there, any/all of whom would be delighted to unborificate said nibs.

Add lightness and simplicate.

My precious and first Montblanc fountain pen, the small burgundy 144 . My husband was stationed in DC, and he took me to Crystal City Mall in Arlington, and I pointed to the pen I wanted.  I've loved my MB pens ever since.

Nice.

The first pen I ever bought in a Montblanc boutique was a burgundy 144.

(I'd gone in to buy a 146, having no idea of the prices of their pens!)

Years later, I ended up giving it to a friend as a wedding gift - she had expressed an admiration of it. And I still see it, from time to time, if it needs a service/clean-up etc.

Today I’ve been using a very modest pen, an early-80s 146 with a fine-to-medium nib. I had it inked with Rohrer and Klinger Salix a couple of weeks ago, which didn’t agree with it (hard starts), so now I’m using MB Midnight Blue (non-IG), which is much better in this pen. Very nice nib, a touch of softness, just enough feedback to be grounded.

It's still my Burgundy 144 Montblanc inked in MB Midnight Blue.

For the last couple of days I have been carrying around a 3-44 with an OB 14C nib. This is a modest pen and it has a lot of mileage on it, but the oblique nib is cut with a bit more "pronunciation" than other obliques that are part of my collection and so I get some flair out of it.

Good morning,

During this week, I have been using a Montblanc 142 with a lovely OB nib. It’s a small fountain pen, but it writes nicely.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
