Kyo-Iro Moonlight Of Higashiyama

Leonardo Red Chalk doesn't feel dry - I've received a bottle from mmg122 and I have two pens filled with it. Review will come soon but my initial experience is that Leonardo red Chalk was very nice ink :) As for this one - I'll probably but a bottle.

I couldn't fall in love with MB Leonardo... and that is very sad, DaVinci has been a hero of mine since a was a little girl.. I did add a drop of red to it, and it looks sooooo much better.

This ink is gorgeous! Too bad it is so difficult to obtain. Thanks so much for your review.

Thanks Cyber6...found 5 of the KyoIro inks on USA Amazon. Ordered this one and Stone Road of Gion

Amazon USA also carries the Kyonooto Series.

$30./bottle (free shipping to Prime members)

I also found this one to be dry in an Esterbrook with M nib and Pilot Decimo with B nib. Juiced it up with a small drop of Photoflo and it was good to go. The color is really rather stunning to my eye.

Thanks so much, Lgsoltek, for taking the time to review this ink.

Currently $14.92 on Rakuten. Shipping would be high for a single bottle, but reasonable for multiple bottles.

Is approx $20 for up to 5 bottles.

I received this ink today, I ordered from Amazon & felt the price of $30.00, including shipment seemed reasonable; the estimated dates of delivery worried me since they indicated September 21-October 13, & my order indicated "preparing for shipment for 5 consecutive days," yet once shipped on 18 August was delivered today, August 20!

I filled a Conway Stewart Churchill Amber, Italic Broad nib & besides being an appropriate match to the amber colored pen, showed no indication of being dry. It is a beautiful ink & I am grateful to the above posts which introduced me to the ink & provided an available source for a beautiful Japanese ink @ reasonable cost & prompt delivery.

Moonlight of Higashiyama & Stone Road of Gion, which accompanied the previous on this journey, are a joy for someone who enjoys the discovery of unique inks.

I got mine through Amazon. From order to arrival (in middle of nowhere California) - 6 days.

I've loaded up my broad CI nibbed Omas Arco (new style) Milord and plan to write quite a few pages tonight.

Best Regards, greg

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

@LG, I love these comparisons. Thank you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Which store are you looking at that has this on stock? I've looked high and low but can't seem to find this ink (every other kyo iro ink is available except this one)

I really like the colour of this ink but I feel I must post a warning.

I've used this in four different pens; a GVFC converter filler and a Waterman 52 lever filler being the two most recent (the other two were a converter filler and a piston filler). The ink liquid tension (not sure of the right term) is such that it has a repeatedly observed tendency to sit at the top of, not only a converter, but also piston filling pens. It is particularly irritating when it happens in a lever filler where you cannot see the ink in the sac and you might think you have run out of ink and only got a small fill. I've had inks do this before and its an easy fix with a bit of a flick but I've never seen it in a piston filler! Sustained and very firm flicking of the barrel can of course solve the problem. It's so terribly bad that I've pondered adding dishwashing soap or photo flow to this ink. I may have got a funny batch, so if your experience is to the contrary it might be useful to contradict me in posts here.
