Good news . . . This is looking really promising. 1 part Hunter Green, 1 part Lie de Thé is very nice.

Bad news . . . I'm out of Lie de Thé so can't tweak things any further :(

Hunter Thé JM is born

Cigar and rikyu-cha are both very paper-dependent.

I've tried them on two types of paper, and they almost look like totally different ink:

(posting with my cellphone, not sure if the link works:P)

those look like completely different inks. very interesting . maybe this is why Lgsoltek's rikyu-cha looks brown and mine looks olive green. i can only assume it really depends not only on paper, but also on the pen it is used with.

Wow. Consider me SUPER jealous! I only have 3 bottles of Cigar, and clearly I need more. :D

I think I have 12 bottles of cigar. But that's a color I frequently use, unlike fuyu-gare of which I have only 1 bottle. :)

:yikes: 12?... :notworthy1:

ps: thanks for the mentioning of fuyu-gare. totally forgot about the existence of this ink. i have just quickly searched online on it and found it to be a color that i have already liked :)

First and second pictures are from different purchases.

Enough for one day I hope.

What is the ink in the third picture? The box looks scrumptious.

And all that Cigar /swoon

 what a great collection. i do notice the difference in color for the box packaging for Cigar ink, those in the first picture (green) and those in the second picture (brown).

Thanks. :)

I've been writing with Joyful-2 Purple Heart this week. It's a great colour. I have the vase bottle & refill it from the jar bottle. Same ink I know but ....... LOL

Yeah, I like it too. I use a 6ml ink capacity pen, so I tend to change inks every 2-3 weeks.

Since the next fill is nearby, I was thinking of which ink to use. Old burgundy, Purple Heart or the cigar.

Maybe Irori since i haven't even opened that yet.

Makes sense, if it's a big nibbed pen, difficult to fill it with that jar bottle. My pen is an eyedropper filler, so I don't have to worry about that unless I take out my vac filler custom 823 or C/C pens. :)

Those short fat bottles with a plastic insert are terrible. I can't even fill a Sailor pen in it.

I find them cute... but then again, I never fill from the bottle. ;)

Get an eyedropper filler pen. :)

  • 4 months later...

I also bought Rikyu cha. I've done two comparison chroma tests of P&M Cigar and Rikyu cha, and can see virtually no difference between the two chromas. :)

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
