I believe mine is defective. I am not able to draw like you :)

 I knew his had something different than mine, but couldn't get !!! There, you said it, rafapa. That is exactly it  .

Change the ink, I'm sure it will help. But remember to get the magic stuff, the ink that contains fairy tales.

Take care

Tomas

Last comment on my Platinum 3776 Century.

This is a great pen, or to be precise, it's going to be a great pen. This is my third drawing with this pen and I'm getting more and more happy.

After my second sketch I decided to clean the pen thoroughly, twice, and change the ink from Platinum Carbon Black to De Atramentis archive black ink, which has seriously improved the line it produce. But I'm not quite satisfied yet.

The lines seems a tiny bit thicker than the very first lines it made, still thiner than the TWSBI Diamond 580. It has stopped skipping and the lines are smooth and a lot more consistant. But it still has problems with sideways strokes, which looks like lines from an empty pen.

I'm not sure if these minor problems are noticeable using this pen for writing, but I only draw, and then it's a bit annoying.

Final words; it's a very smooth pen and I'm sure that in a very short time, it will be smooth as butter. The minor bugs regarding the lines will also disappear in the next couple of sketches. It will not surprise me, if this is going to be one of my absolute favourite pens.

This is the third sketch with this pen "who is hunting who?", in the line of numerous "Sundaydrawings".

Hope you like it and I will give the pen my best recommendations.

Thanks, and you're right, the pen is a lot better already.

Love to see you're drawings, where do you post them?

Take care

Tomas

Glad you're bonding with your 3776, it will only get better. Especially when you stop comparing it with TWSBI, those are totally different nibs and never will feel the same. I drew for years with Rotring Art Pen, which is similar in feel to TWSBI, and also felt strange when I switched to Platinum. But I would never go back now :-)

Regarding my drawings, they are scattered here on FPN in different threads and collected on my site and Facebook. Here's one long time ink review I finished in January:

And here's some love for my 3776 SF:

You're welcome to click on FOUNTAIN PEN category on my site if you would like to see more :-)

On my side, I would love to hear (and see :-) ) your impressions of De Atramentis Document Black - I'm debating with myself switching to it from Platinum Carbon Black as my experience with DA Document Brown has been great.

Hi,

You're right the Platinum and the TWSBI are two very different pens. I have been using the TWSBI for years, so getting a new pen is almost like learning to ride your bike again.

I have the Rotring art pen too, but never really liked it.

Thanks for sharing your websites, I'll have a good look at it one of the next days, when I get a whole in the day. And I will leave a comment about the ink as well.

Take care
