De Atramentis - Steel Blue

As promised, a mini comparison of the wonderful STEEL BLUE. First a card for the file box (I have a card with all the inks in my collection).

And then a comparison with its closest neighbors (the box is arranged by color and hue; and yes, I am aware of my excessive organizational disorder... ;) )

Your Steel Blue looks bluer than mine...

I'll say is the paper. I find steel blue shows more blue in absorbent papers.

Oh my.... If only I had seen this before I sent me Goulet order! Oh well, maybe when my waterman Inspired Blue runs out.

Could be. My card for that ink is artists' watercolor paper, so yes, it is quite absorbent. But on Tomoe River the color is rich, and the sheen is wonderful.

Is the drying time for Steel Blue really that long? It's an absolutely lovely blue!

Oxford Optik is a quite glossy paper that doesn't absorb very much ink. However, it's a wet ink, so if you're a lefty you should be aware.
