Montblanc For BMW

You'll have to check yourself because I don't know where you live. The MB refill department online doesn't show it yet -- they're never very timely about such issues -- but if you click any ink there (with or without first checking out the "GLOBAL" link up top to the left on your screen to select your country) you'll see this window:

Interested in this product?

Find out more and visit one of our Montblanc stores for expert guidance on our product range and assistance selecting the perfect item.

Hit that and I'll cross my fingas fer ya.

Mike, do you think any boutique in the United States will have this now?

How about phoning them up an asking them? MB here at their German headquarters don't know. Try 1-800-995-4810 (which is up top to the left of the US site here)...

Good luck!

Lapis is right, this is a very special limited edition - actually the most raw edition, because the quantity of all produced inks is much lower than the other editions. It is specially made for BMW... well for the true collector of all MB inks it will not be so easy to get one... I wrote to Montblanc and they told me, they will be for sale via the BMW shop. But NOW they are SOLD OUT. :(

Maybe some MB Boutiques have them.... maybe there are some on Ebay.

Good Luck!

There are two bottles of this ink offered on Ebay @ the moment. They are offered from a German seller & still have a few days before the auction ends.

Wow the ebay offers are really high.

If someone want a bottle of the BMW edition - just write me, I offer them for a lower price. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I sure hope they find something like that. I've asked all over the place here (again), much to my chagrin....

If anybody has access to this ink please send me a PM. I have been told this won't be readily available anywhere in the USA and I am trying to collect all the MB limiteds. Plus I like this blue. Thanks!!

I, too, have been trying to track this down in the US and have had no success. Hopefully I can suppress the gotta catch em all instinct and stay off Ebay, because that seem to be my only hope of obtaining this ink.

Oops, looks like I missed out on this post. Sorry. The only sites I've yet found (apart from MB's) are:

http://shop.bmw.com/en_US/lifestyle/accessories/writing-utensils/page1.html and

http://www.bmw-kirsch.de/onlineshop/bmw/montblanc-for-bmw-tinte-30ml (seems like they've already put that offer on ice).

MB's own site on refills doesn't show anything BMW-ish... (w/a hit the line United States of America up top to the left to select a different languge)....

.... but you can use that site -- if you're looking to find something else special -- for "Product currently unavailable"

Wow! BMW blue! I love it! But it's a good thing that I can't find any because I probably couldn't afford it anyway!

I have a dumb "I wonder" question for all of you MB ink fans - is it possible that MB manufactures ink for small boutique brands like Colorado Pen? While their colors are not hugely similar, both brands are made in Austria. Truthfully, I don't have a clue, and am I not staying awake at night wondering about this either. Just a dumb question.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
