What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2016

RMN

Recommended Posts

Had to wait quite a while for my 1906 (last one produced...) Accompanied by the coral version and a new box.

Very nice Axis, congratulations!

When I saw this box I liked it immediately. If I ever settle down in one country, it's the first thing I am buying.

While visiting my home country last week, I got a glimpse of a similar desk set I purchased many years ago (but never posted on Most Recent Purchases) so I thought I would now. Sadly such items never see any use.

Dear Axis,

very nice!

Is the box is a custom-made production or free for sale?

Best regards

That is a nice pen box :)

I think I am right in saying though that the pen itself is a standard 149? No different engravings on the nib?

I think rugby66de was talking about Axis' box. It is standard production yes, but boutiques usually request them on order (particularly if its a smaller shop).

jsolares you're right! :) They're limited edition 4810.

da vinci thanks! And yes the pen is not any different from the standard 149.

Excellent choices. I have the same, although my 1906 is still in transit. Had to wait for an OM nib. The box is a thing of beauty.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Sorry for replying late - as Pravda wrote it is free for sale. It's made for 20 writing instruments and normally only on order even with larger stores.

Congrat Mitto on your latest purchase. Nice pen....always MB :)

Thank you, Coral_Montblanc. Couldnt resist inking the pen. It has very smooth functioning piston and a very large ink capacity. A smooth writer too.

I was attracted by the design and bought one as well. Too bad that I can't use the smaller pen case to transport 149 around. There is no latch between the two halves of the case.

Even if there were a latch, its too pretty and fragile to have it scratched around sitting on tables and what not I think. Otherwise, I did use it at some point to transport a skeleton pen while traveling to keep it safe when I figured my pen case isn't rigid enough should anything happen.

Got this in May. A Starwalker Urban Speed with a Fine Nib. I may be regretting the nib choice now, as lately I have been writing in print and I realise that for me, the fine nib does not really allow the expressiveness of the ink to show as much compared to a medium nib. What do you guys think? :)

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
