And I think I got the answer to this one, Snak didn't buy it, but he will soon. As for the nib, I don't recall if it fit.....

Beautiful pens, penmanship, and photography! Wow. So impressive!

I know, I know, I wasn't going to buy any more pens but for £20 brand new, boxed and with a Visconti converter who could resist ?!

Thank you London Pen Show and thank you to the lady who snatched them all up but let me have this one as it was a B nib.

Pen - Visconti Music Edition, graphite, B nib (hesitantly but succesfully ground down at home to an F)

Ink - Noodler's Raven Back

Wash - Gris Nuage

A beautiful pen, and at a great price! An amazing price, actually! And looks like it works great for your lovely sketches :)

Earlier this morning, I was writing with a Sheaffer Crest, a lever-filler. I love these guys. Such handsome, elegant pens, with a touch of luxury. The quote I wrote comes from a Sheaffer advertisement. I think it fits the pen rather well.

I've got one of these in my watch list, but I didn't know what the model is. Just watching for now. And that carmine you've got going is quite lovely.

So pretty! I agree with you that pink ink in white pens looks gorgeous!

I like your understated, subtle pink too, Skysora.

Here is that Moomin Preppy I mentioned earlier. I thought you would like it. :)

I also used the Preppy pen and it's EF nib a little bit in this drawing I did a couple of days ago. I used Preppy for the steady unvaried lines on the outline of the surfboard, and the half circle shape of the fish scales. All the other lines and dots were drawn with a dip pen nib planted into the trusty Vac 700 body.

What a beauty! and what a find! Good job on grinding it down to your preference too. I am too chicken to manipulate nibs. (maybe that didn't come out quite right). But do we get to see the sketch in the background? Please?

What a whale! And what a snail! I have to read the story ;)

Thanks Eli! The books by Julia Donaldson (and the illustrator Axel Scheffler) are favourites in our household, almost as loved as Dr Seuss books! My faves are Gruffalo and Room on the Broom, and of course The Snail and the Whale.

Whale, Tale, Snail, Tail... :lticaptd: It's so good to see you feeling better and posting lots again, Amberlea.

And here is another version of the tree above.

At a different point in time version - it's fun to compare.

I am glad you are not washing away those pretty doodles you do so well.

I checked out the RO inks but they are not sold on eBay any longer, and has this distributor in Australia that I have never heard of so I am still thinking if I should acquire more inks. (It's not like I need any more inks in the next 10 lifetimes!) But I know I will eventually get them. ;)

Yes I missed the opportunity, it happened just after I got another big "want" pen so I felt guilty pressing that Buy It Now button and didn't. 13oz is like 255g if I am not mistaken (maybe I am mistaken), isn't it? That's a mighty weighty pen! Could you please do another experiment for me? Where is the centre of gravity at (unposted), when you try to balance the pen on your extended finger like a see-saw? I think I can handle a heavy pen but I can't handle a back heavy pen. I would be keen to know the balance in your hand. Thanks!

Oh those 0.2mm Preppy's are really something.

The whole sketch, as requested . . .

http://www.taskyprianou.com/fpn_florida_insect_mesh_.jpg

A view through the insect mesh from a restaurant in Florida.

I tried one where I began to actually draw the mesh but binned it before I went insane and rubbed over the whole sketch with a pencil instead.

(The border was drawn with Black Cashmere, a lovely black ink but look how red and pale it looks in comparison to Noodler's Raven Black.)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
