I got the Pocket 40 in smoke & ice with the medium Masuyama stub and it is so gorgeous and a lovely writer but I have discovered I don't like to post!! Wishing I had gotten the 65.

If you are within the 30 days, contact them and ask if you can swap the body for a 65. They have amazing customer service. This in fact what I did.

I've had the 02 in ice with the Masuyama broad cursive italic for a couple of weeks now.I love it.

That nib must be delicious! I am like a pendulum now... though I selected P20, I think I want a longer one which was my original inclination.

Glad you got what you wanted! I love Franklin Christoph exactly because they have such wonderful customer service. Scott has built a great company and I gladly buy from them. I will warn you though, I wish in hindsight that I'd just kept the P40 and bought additional FC pens :)

Medium Stub in both gold and steel for my 19 and 20. Have a Broad Stub on my 03. Love these nibs...

How do you find the stubs for every day writing? I can't write quickly with my cursive italic. I use a medium on my 20 and my Masuyama needlepoint on my 40 when I have to take notes quickly.

In no way would I want to rain on Mr Masuyama's excellent record. He is a very competent nib technician, particularly reputed for grinding Japanese style needle point nibs.

I ordered a number of customizations of gold music nibs directly through his workshop, when he lived in Georgia). His stubs & cursive italics appeared to be "sharper edged" than I would have liked. These nibs were more position sensitive than edged nibs from other well known nib technicians. More than likely the fault was mine, as I'm not that accurate in keeping on the nib's writing edge.

That said,... there's one fabulous Masuyama nib that I've kept for rapid note taking & writing letters or cards when I travel: Mike's round-nosed 0.6 mm. CI, ground from a Sailor 14K MS nib.

Looks like a wide stub from the top, but writes like a crisp yet forgiving narrow cursive italic.

I'd highly recommend this specialized Masuyama nib.

I am in luv with the Left hand Oblique nib......In other words, and I'm Right Handed.....TaKE off your left stocking, and look at the curve of your toes. Yes I'm telling the truth, ha, ha, ha,.....When I wrte for some reason I tend to "roll" my right hand backwards and I cannot stop it. So, I have either myself or Mike-it-work put a Left Hand Oblique "cut" onto my nibs. Thne I write smooth as silk........Go Figure?

I was really surprised by the 14K gold broad italic nib -- It's my favorite nib so far.

I was expecting something big and wet, and too wide for daily writing, but it's actually quite sharp, with a lot of line variation.

I'm going to try the broad SIG nib next.

Scientia potentia est.

I only own one F-C pen, my pocket 66 in solid ice with a Masuyama steel needlepoint. I've bought a few more pens since that one and it is still my favorite. It has been inked up with DA Aubergine.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
