Which Is Your Favorite Franklin-Christoph Pen/nib?

I already own two and three nibs and I am eyeing a third one... so ... feedback is encouraged both on models and nibs. I love the 1.5 and needlepoint, not so much fond of the music nib because probably, I am not too skillful with it. My hand trembles a bit so lines are not smooth or as straight as they should. It's a different story with 1.5mm nibs

I have the Medium stub in both the #6 and #5 nib size and I really enjoy both. It's the perfect combination of smoothness and line variation. I prefer my #6 nib in the Marietta/20 and my #5 in my Stabilis/65 in cracked ice finish. Now that's a gorgeous pen.

The praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards.

I have a Model 66 with EF gold nib and Model 02 with medium italic nib. I also have a spare steel F nib.

My favorite would be the Model 02 with the steel F nib. The Model 02 is not that long even after the cap is posted. Nice and compact.

The italic is pretty sharp.

I am counting, since I want the ice finish and I a thinking about Stabilis 65 or the 02 model, but I like the pocket sizes in pens. I also like the #6 nibs. I love the compact sizes of my P66 and Marietta #20. A change of pace would be to get a longer one.

Keep the favorites coming, photos included, please! I want to know how they have fared (mine all too well), but also look is important. One thing I regret is ordering the Marietta in Black, although I don't recall if it is available in different colors. But so far iI am enjoying it and the P66.

I have a Matsuyama italic medium in an 02 green. Love the nib. Want to get a #20 but why would I get any other nib???

A smoke Iterum "03" with an 18K 1.0 stub by Pendleton Brown. It's possibly my most used pen & the only Franklin-Christoph I own.

I've had the 02 in ice with the Masuyama broad cursive italic for a couple of weeks now.I love it.

Oh, so great to know. I think that 02 is great.

Awesome! Santa will be busy with me deciding this year... I have Masuyama needlepoint, Music, Fine and 1.5 and would love to see some cursive samples. I guess that is what is next to have a broad (no pun intended) sampling of F-C nibs.

I want to thank you all for your comments.
I have re-looked at the models mentioned here and compared with my previous notes about the models I liked. I made a temporary decision as I narrowed the list of pens I users the most recently and looked at what I want in my next pen. I looked at previously discarded models again which was refreshing. I will let my decision stand until my final revision on Moday, I decided on the Pocket 20 with a 1.5 cursive italic because...

It's small
Uses #6 nibs
1.5 seems to be the nib size I like the most and is available for that model
I don't like flashy colors and like simplicity and this one is available in 3 conservative colors and is very simple and pragmatic.
I want a pen that does not shout "look at me and steal me". So "ice" was discarded
This time I will ask for a clip; Model #20 I have really needs it or it will not hold inside the 6 pens F-C case.

If anyone has something to comment on the P20 I am listening! Same Santa.

Thanks again!

I have the full size 20, which I love. I bought the pocket P20 for a gift and so had a chance to have a quick swirl with it before wrapping it. The nib was medium steel. It wrote beautifully and was just as lovely to hold as the full size 20. I'm going to have to enjoy the P20 vicariously through my friend!

Because I have the full size 20 I think it deserves an offspring, in Tiger Red which would fit my color scheme. The full size 20 I have is actually using a music nib.

The child should match the parent, totally agree. Maybe you can post a family portrait in due course? :)

Sure will!

I was looking at their journal covers and they look fantastic, good match also for the 6 pen cases.

I have their A4 flexi-journal and it's very classy. Here's a link to the review I did on my full size 20 (includes photos!). Hope the child behaves!

I got the Pocket 40 in smoke & ice with the medium Masuyama stub and it is so gorgeous and a lovely writer but I have discovered I don't like to post!! Wishing I had gotten the 65.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
