Beautiful pen. I love the Sailor pigmented inks but can’t think of any I’d call blue-green. Blue for sure, I use Souboku in several pens. Interested to see what others come up with.

Thank you, @Cjtamu.  It looks like the Seiboku leans a little more green while still looking very blue.  I will look for these on Sunday (round two for the pen show).

I bought this Leonardo Momento Magico prototype at the San Francisco International Pen Show this morning.  Now I'm trying to figure out what might be a good, water resistant blue-green ink to go use in it.  Any suggestions?

Octopus Write and Draw Petrol Deer might work, or DeAtramentis Document Cyan. If you’re at the show- ask around, many vendors will show you something that might work, and attendees will probably be happy to chime in. If you run into @fireant, ask her, she’s an ink maven!
That’s a gorgeous pen, too. I love that color! What sort of fancy nib is that?

Very nice looking pen. To me it needs Kon Peki or an orange ink for contrast, like Edelstein Mandarin.

I'd long been intrigued by the piston filler Cleo Skribent but stumbled upon the cartridge version.

It feels really nice in the hand, for some reason I expected it to be tiny but it's longer if more slender than an M205.

Currently trying its fine steel nib with Lie de Thé, and seeking a 6mm converter.

Won an ebay auction this morning for a Pelikan MK10. Should arrive by the end of the month.

Phito from the listing.

Are you using the Herbin cartridges? If so, try the Kaweco mini converter, it’s not quite 6mm long, but the diameter is 7mm, in case that’s what you meant by your measurements.

The nib is their Flexible Fine.  I'm considering swapping it for a medium. Being left-handed, I struggle with flexible nibs.  Thanks for the recommendation of the DeAtramentis Document Cyan.  I've been a fan of DeAtramentis inks for some time now and that color looks perfect.  The Octopus Petrol Deer, although beautiful, is a little too green for my tastes.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Huh... I hadn't thought about exploring complimentary colors.  Thanks, @senzen.

Thank you! I meant 6mm diameter where it goes into the section.  I don't think I have any Herbin cartridges but had lying around a short non descript converter whose piston pulls up, must have come with another pen; it doesn't inspire much confidence but isn't leaking so far. It looks a little ridiculous on such a long pen, but as long as it works... I'll keep looking for more converters to have more ink capacity.

The pen produces lighter inks, I could make it wetter but would rather use this as an advantage, Vert de Gris looks very nice in its lighter hue. It's a pen that makes me want to write, my highest praise.

@Gloucesterman, you have a top notch flea market!

Only the best fleas attend.

And I bug 'em until they remember to bring the pens.

Lot's of times I see nice vintage pencils and, occasionally a ball point or two.

But, I know VERY little about them so I let them go.

Today there was a VERY NICE Michel Perchin ball point pen but the guy wanted $750. for it and I did not even start to negotiate because, even at half that price I am not sure what my market for it would be. If it was an FP, I might have gone after it! (or not :-).

I almost never have any luck at flea markets, and pretty much none at yard and garage sales.  I got lucky once at a flea market a few years ago and a guy GAVE me a Wearever that he claimed he couldn't sell.

The only luck I ever had at a garage sale/yard sale wasn't a pen -- it was a coatrack/halltree that I spotted after coming back from an estate sale (got the two Sheaffer desk pens at that).  I had also meant to look at the coatracks at it, but forgot -- and when I went back someone else was loading at least one of those into the back end of a pickup truck.  But then, just up the street from where the estate sale had been, spotted a nicer one for IIRC $20 US.  And the one I bought had a built in stand at the bottom for umbrellas or canes (although I'm going to have to figure out some sort of bottom for that part -- maybe tack on some sheets of aluminum foil or something, since I don't want wet stuff leaking onto the wooden floor in the front hallway.

That's okay Ruth. What yo miss at yard sales and flea markets you seem to make up for at estate sales. It all averages out in the long run IF you keep at it!

I stopped by a local antiques store the other day to drop off a flyer for our pen show. I mentioned the show of course and asked the clerk (not the owner) about pens. Turns out that somewhere at home they have a Tiffany fountain pen desk set. They are move to a new home nearby in the next few weeks. Once they are settled, they will look for the set and contact me. WOW, a Tiffany desk set. I may even want to buy that for myself!

My advice to you Ruth...

Keep on looking!

Keep on asking!

P.S. Will I see you in September???

Not sure of plans as far out as the Commonwealth Show.  Consider me a "maybe" -- it depends on family stuff (the two storage lockers full of stuff out of my late mother-in-law's house are now empty) but my husband's one niece has been going through a lot of it (and there may be some stuff of my husband's).  And in addition, her dad just had a major heart attack and is in the hospital (he and his wife live about an hour from Seattle).  We're not sure of his prognosis yet (he apparently has no memory of why he's IN the hospital :o) but is apparently awake and alert as of a couple of days ago.

And of course it's basically a 2 day trip each way from Pittsburgh to Boston by car....

An ebonite Recife and a modern Eversharp Skyline.

This Skyline has no separate grip section; instead the tip of the barrel screws off to expose the end of the convertor or cartridge. I think it is wonderful that Henry Dreyfuss, who designed the beautiful New York Central locomotive, gave the Skyline the same streamlined shape.

I found a cute Esterbrook CX-100  cartridge pen for my school pen micro collection; Kirk Speer has NOS  vintage cartridges, so to reach free shipping I was looking at his used pen section, and found a blue tartan Sheaffer Fashion II that I had been looking for, so now I have 2 blue pens coming.

Back from the San Francisco Pen Show and recovered from the drive... My one big purchase wasn't particularly impulsive so I'll post it elsewhere. However, on Friday night was the auction of pens to benefit the Pen Collectors of America programs, and I figured I'd find something to bid on. I settled on a lot of 2 vintage Waterman pens, a Lady Patricia in Onyx and a 52-1/2 in Cardinal. The LP has a lovely, fine and soft flexing nib, while the 52 has an interesting semi-flex stub. They are now most of the way through restoration, I just have to put sacs in. Honestly, I thought one of my pals was going to keep going higher in the bidding, but my last (and final) bid was exactly that! Oh well, it was for a good cause. :D

I scored a new one to me: A Pilot open nib pen that's essentially a mini-Custom 67!

The mystery pen has no identifying marks on the cap or barrel and I haven't pulled the 14k #3 nib to see when it was made.

The nib is a medium with as much flex as the current production #5 SM, or maybe even a bit more, it also leans a bit on the fine side compared to current Pilot production.

If anyone knows what this model is, please let me know!

...and yes, the C67 has a Coarse nib. almost useless for writing, but fun!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
