Is The Mb Boheme A Ladies Pen?

Hi,

I have recently purchased this 'beautiful' MB Boheme and therein lies my issue.

I can't help feeling that it is a ladies pen as it is so beautiful.

Please don't suggest removing the red stone as this is not an option.

Does anyone else feel the same or am I about to get ostracised?

You feel the way you feel. If you think your feelings might be wrong, there is help for that. There are even people that think the 149 is is not a lady's pen, believe it or not.

My personal view is that the ruby Boheme is a bit ladylike. My preference would be for the oversized Boheme with an emerald that I once saw but could not afford.

I bought one used. I never thought of it as a lady's pen. I would have preferred the blue stone but other than that I have no issued with the gender of the pen. I got it because I liked the way it looked and wrote.

My personal view is that the stoned Bohèmes are very ladylike.

I own three Bohème, with the three different sizes... all three platinum finished with no stone.

IMO, all the stoned Bohème are quite "ladylike". We (my wife and me) received one as a wedding gift, and I never use it.

I think it is a beautiful Pen, classy for sure. Fill it with Montblanc Pink Ink and conquer the hearts of your ladies. I would...😊

The 149 is a woman's pen - strong, curvaceous and responsive to handling.

The Boheme is a man's pen - retractable and designed to hide inside clothing. :lticaptd: :bunny01:

I have 5 Bohemes and all have different colored gems on the clips. I LOVE the design of the pen and think it's one of Montblancs hidden gems. Although I have to say the one with the black stone is the most subdued.

I personally think it is a ladies pen. Although so of the WE pens I own have vake gems on them I think this is a feature added to appeal to ladies.

If you like it, use it. People are more likely to judge you for using any fountain pen vs focusing on the stone in the clip. I find the regular ones too small foe my tastes, but some are quite attractive to me. I went with the XL which only comes without a stone in the clip, but if there was a red stone (or some other color) it would not stop me from using it.

The only one i'd say it's completely girly is the Je t'aime with it's heart shaped stone. there are some stones that are more girly than others or no stone, but i wouldn't mind using those.

Different model, but the Princesse Grace de Monaco is the one that strikes me as the most feminine. It's not just the gemstone, but the rest of the shape and style as well.

I don't think the ruby gemstone on your Boheme makes it girly. It looks gender neutral to me.

I feel it's very ladylike due to the gems and the small size. Maybe not as feminine as the Greta Garbo with the pearl on the clip and the curvy style, but still.

I used to think it depended on the stone. So when I got one, it was the Boheme Marron in rose gold which did fine when posted (not too lady like) and convenient when you want something tiny to carry around. But then eventually sold it :/

Honestly the red stone strikes me as being a bit on the feminine side, although I would not hesitate to use it. Mine has no stone and looks to me to be a bit more "formal", suitable for either sex.

I never knew they did a 'black' stone.

Do you think the Montblanc store can replace it with a 'black' stone, if yes problem solved :)
