Lust!

I'm not sure why I'm not a Parker fan. They are fine pens, why do I find them unappealing? The Vacumatic is one of the few I fancy a go on. I think it must be a design thing. I have really never liked the 51 or 61, though some Duofolds are quite tasty.

I did have a Canadian Lucky Curve Duofold Junior (about 1930); I bought it for £10 in an antique shop in Lewes. It had a wonderful nib. I wish I still had it really; it didn't fetch much money and I do like button fillers.

Waterman Charleston in yellow. I love the looks of the pen based on Waterman's vintage 100 Year Pen, and the yellow is a wonderful strong colour. Relatively rare.

Also Pelikan 400 in tortoise, light tortoise, and seagreen. They seem to be on ebay pretty often, except for the light tortoise, but I may have to wait a while till one comes along at the right price.

Too many pens, too little time!

There is one old 1940s or 1950s Sheaffer desk pen I would like to find. It filled sort of like a Touchdown filler, but the black desk pen my mother had had a black rod instead of the chromed Touchdown filler tube. I think the rod was plastic.

Apart from that I would lust after selling most of my accumulation.

I'd dearly love an azure Vacumatic with a broad nib. Even if I could afford it, I'd find a needle in a haystack easier...

Why is it so difficult to find? Because of the colour or because of the nib?

Older American pens with broad nibs are very rare.

The FP I truly am "lusting" over is a blue Duovac with a medium nib in very good condition.

Many thanks, friend. I actually saw an azure Vacumatic with a stub nib in the Classifieds today, but beyond my budget.

So did I... :yikes:

Unfortunately the price is rather in line with other vendors... :(

My item of lust was a dip pen I saw 25 years on a trip to France and Belgium - I first saw it at a store in Limoges, then found it again at a store in Liege that only took Visa and all I had was Mastercard. It was a marbelized royal blue dip pen with a matching inkwell. And the inkwell had a nice dent in the lid so that you could rest the pen across it. I've never seen anything else like it since and gravely fear I never will again. Unless it crops up now, when I haven't got two cents to rub together.

Boring, I know, but my 1936-built house is all Deco. I love all things deco or arts and crafts.

I... Must... Have... A... Doric... Any color. Any nib. Do. Not. Care.

And a periwinkle snorkle. Any model.

And a Vacumatic Shadow wave. Any color.

See how easy I am?

The Waterman Edson looks really cool with a unique nib design.

The more I read about the Lamy 2000, the more I realise that my writing-life will be incomplete without it.

A Nakaya Portable Cigar Cherry Blossoms by Silver Powder or Neo Standard Shinobu, with oblique medium nib. Preferably both. :)

No, forget that. I've just discovered that they make a maki-e model with one of my favourite classical Chinese paintings, Chen Rong's "Nine Dragons", so of course that would be my first choice.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
