It seems to be raining Plums :)

 

At this rate, their status might have to be demoted from uncommon to somewhat uncommon... kind of like when Pluto got demoted... :)

Nope. ;)

 

IMO, the rumor of Plummerpalooza's demise is greatly exaggerated.

 

I think they run "in spurts". The recent NOS Demi's were that once in a lifetime pen store inventory close-out from the same Fleabayer. IMO, the days of those kinds of finds are only getting further and farther between.

 

You may well go the next month or two without one Clearly being correctly listed as a Plum.

 

Those two NOS Demi's brought over 2 bills each, both with just Lustaloy and even one of Those NOS caps already needing refinishing (IMO). Demi's always bring less that full sized.

 

All these people that say they are so damn common? Then ask them to sell you one of Theirs for $80 and let's see how common they are. :rolleyes:

I got rid of all the ones I had because I could effectively swap them for a DJ pen and often a 1st year DJ.

 

 

I for one am glad they are rare.

Not sure the first listing is actually Plum. I thought that you could tell the pre-1957 pens by whether it says "Use Superchrome ink" on the sac sleeve, and there is one photo where it clearly says "Use Parker Ink". So either it's not a Plummer, or this is a replacement. I'd be asking questions about whether there's a date code on the pen, to be sure that the seller has the date correct. I'll reserve judgement on the other listings, since I'm not in the market for another one (I'm pretty convinced mine is, so I'm good, thanks... :rolleyes:).

Is the second and third listing actually for the same set? I noticed they were the same seller....

They are the same seller, but different sets. In fact, the seller does note (in the verbiage below and in sort of English LOL) in one of the auctions, that the pencil is not Plum, but 'burgAndy' :)

Also, there seems to be a bidding war between the same 2 bidders on both. I will be making popcorn and tuning in Saturday night!...

The fact that they appear seldomly on the market may have nothing to do with how many there are in people's hands.

Let us quit running after plums and I am sure these would become pretty common. That seems to be a perfect way for all the plums kept in hiding to come to fore.

Rarity does not drive price, desire to own and collectabllity does. I have a 1942 Vac burgundy SJ that is beyond rare and yet I got it on fleabay for $150.

If it is plum, it MUST be rare.

Yes, it is the only plum vector that I have ever come across. And , it is the only one among my 50+ vectors.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
