If I want a silk purse, I buy a silk purse. However, fashioning a silk purse from a sow's ear might be a feasible, even fun, endeavor. I would start by contacting Goulet Pens or xfountainpens, as they are good advisers and will discuss the appropriate nib size, etc. Sorry for being vague, but I never consider doing this.

I've bought this for my x750 (which has the same nib)

They worked perfectly.

Disclaimer: You need to be comfortable with pulling out the feed and re-setting the nib. It's a friction fit, so very easily done. Brian most likely has videos on it.

Where can I buy a good quality broad nib that will fit into my Jinhao 159? C. S.

The 159 takes a #6 nib, which you can pick up in several places. I grabbed some of the Goulet nibs, and they were very nice. I've had everything from an EF to a 1.5 stub in the 159 and mine took them all like a champ.

I use Goulet nibs in mine. I bought this pen specifically so I could easily change out the various nib sizes.

Another vote for the Goulet nibs. Have several, love them.

Enjoy,

The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

Goulet's B is of better quality but xfountainpens 0.6 stub is delightful nib on 159.

Non notisi signi.

I've used the Knox #6 nibs from xfountainpens.com with very good results. I've even used them in more costly pens.

I am using a 1.1 mm stub from Goulet Pens in a Jinhao 159 and it is writing just fine. I have been impressed that this pen starts right up after being stored nib up for a day or two. The feed keeps up with the stub.

I ground up my own 1.1mm stub from the stock nib. I even put a little bit of crispness to it.

Hi, do try Goulet nibs. I've used the fine and 1.1stub in my jinhao 159 and the fine is a winner ... With the stub the flow is probably too high so feathering is a problem. Also with the original jinhao converter the capacity is definitely less than an international one so .. More often than not I would have an empty converter by the end of the day. Not tHat drastic with a fine nib.

The Knox nibs from xFountainPens are amazing for the price, very smooth and wet broad nibs.

I have several 159s and find them hard to beat - except they only come in medium -- #6 nibs from Goulet or Xfountainpen - solves that problem

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
