But yet still nothing on their site about it. Very interesting looking if the barrel does indeed have that flat spot.

Any news about when it will be available in the MB stores?

Write, write, write. Use your pens not your fingers !!!

I saw in a video that they were going to introduce it in September. I'm patiently waiting.

I really want to like it... But.. :(

It makes me think of somenthing between a Lamy Dialog and a Starwalker. Since I very much like the modern design, I also like that pen (at least I think so, must see it in person). But again: it is a matter of taste, for example I find the Pavarotti and the Tolstoj too "busy".

Another web press release about this pen.

About the nib - "a gold nib AU585 is used in a two-tone finish of rhodium and ruthenium. The nib is topped off with an inscription of “MN,” in reference to Marc Newson, on those produced in the year of the writing instrument’s launch.

I like everything about it except the clip :)

Evidently there's a ballpoint or rollerball version as well:

Thank you for these pictures, first time I see the "real" pen. I like the shiny black!

Any rumours or guesses about the price?

Edit: Perhaps I should've googled first. According to this site the FP version will be available for £ 385. The other versions will be available for £ 270.

I'm torn between getting this pen or a Starwalker.

I'm thinking exactly the same thing, I have been eyeing off the starwalker mystery blck ballpoint for a while now and hadn't even considered the Marc Newson as I assumed the price would be at least above $1000..... decisions decisions!

Difficult decision. I have the Mystery Black BP, and I can say that it's a great modern pen: heavy, substantial and with that beautiful "laser pattern".

While I somewhat like the look of the Marc Newson, I'm starting to feel I'd grow tired of it in just a few days of ownership; it's not a classic like the 146/149 nor does it have as nice lines as a lot of other MBs.

I am not sure if I caught it reading above, but I am assuming it is going to be a cartridge pen right? And I doubt it'll be able to accommodate Starwalker compatible converters because of the indentation of the barrel?

In that case, I'll pass

I agree, to me despite being new the Starwalker range carries that Montblanc classicality to it.. the only thing drawing me to this is it's novelty, resemblance to a Lamy.. but that is also what puts me off.... in any case based on the mixed response it has had here there may be plenty sitting in boutiques in the years to come!

The Tyson's MB Boutique had a booth at the DC Pen Show this weekend. They had one of these pens on display -- it is very light and I think it will retail for about $600.00 in the US. Interesting design but not something I will be interested in.

I didn't consider this, but definitely. What Pravda said was eye-opening as well - I didn't consider that it probably won't fit a converter.

Now I just have to decide between a black resin (platinum) and midnight black resin (ruthenium) starwalker...

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
