Blue - Visconti

Visconti was founded in 1988 roku in Florence by Dante del Vecchio. Over the last 27 years Dante has grown his company into one of the world’s leading luxury pen brands, manufacturing 100,000 units a year and creating many of the most interesting, original and beautiful pens on the market.

They offer also inks but I'm not sure if they make them in Florence. I doubt but I lack information on the subject. If anyoone knows who makes Visconti inks, I would be interested to know. Anyway they offer few nice and saturated colors:

2. Blue
3. Bordeaux
4. Green
5. Purple
6. Sepia
7. Turquoise

Visconti's Blue is one of best blue inks I know.

Would also love to know who makes Visconti inks. I have this Blue, and then picked up a bottle of the Turquoise today which again is a really nice well lubricated ink.

 

Is there an Italian ink manufacturer who's less well known and makes Visconti, Aurora and Delta inks ?

Otherwise outside of Italy I'd guess at Diamine

Is it more saturated than iro asa-gao?

I usually use this with my EF and F nibs, as it's quite saturated and wet..

An ink I hunted down while looking for "that blue." I've almost finished the bottle, and will need to get a new one soon. Too bad there are no good B&M here, I will need to order it from the $tates.

One of the most beautiful blue inks I've ever seen, but looks pretty saturated.

How careful should I be if I'm gonna use it as my everyday ink in a vintage fountain pen(with a rubber sack)? Did any of you tried it in such circumstances?

I use it regularly in all types of pens and it has never caused a problem. I only wish it came in a glass bottle rather than a plastic one, but I love the shape.

I love this blue so much. I know blue inks aren't everybody's cup of tea, a lot of fountain pen enthusiasts seem to go off the deep end for their crazy oranges, deep eggplants, radioactive greens and brownie browns but I'm just in love with blues - and this shade is like the paragon blue. I am not ashamed to admit that I write with it just for the sake of seeing it! I will always have a pen inked up with it.

 

Also, the bottle is pretty good. Even if it's plastic. Not something I want to hold, touch, pet and whisper to like a Pilot Iroshizuku bottle, but very utilitarian. And it's fortunate it is plastic because I actually had a back spasm as I was carrying it from my table to my desk, practically flung it rather than just dropped it, and it took a couple nasty bounces off of the hard floor, surviving it intact.

Why does high saturation equate with danger to pens? Waterman Serenity Blue is quite saturated but also widely considered the go to "safe" ink. It's not like every well saturated ink is Noodler's Bay State Blue (which, if I've read right, is a contaminant from an alien dimension let loose on our own, consuming all other colors and making them one with it - well something like that. Only more terrifying.)

One of our fellow FPNers told me two tricks -- 1 keep it attached to the little bottom stand. It is meant to be kept together and it holds it down. OR 2 put the bottle in to the clear top so that the top forms a cup and the bottle can't move.
