I prefer standard 8 1/2 x 11 or A4 size. Some of the B5 size (I think that's the size) are nice too. I don't care for the smaller size journals.... too small for my preference. The downside is that very nice journals in the size I prefer are much more expensive, or not available. I'm trying to work up the stomach to spend $150+ for a nice Epica journal, and searching for nice but more reasonable journals. I have one of the large journals from paperforfountainpens, but I would like lined pages, more traditional coated paper, and a nicer cover.

I enjoy MB 146 pens, Sailor, Pilot and Platinum pens as well. I have a strong attraction to dark red and muted green ink, colors I dislike for everything but FP ink. I also enjoy practicing my handwriting and attempting to improve it. I love the feel of quality paper under a gold nib.

A5 works for journal, for me. But for courthouse research, I go to the (U.S. standard?) composition notebooks.

Smaller than A5 I find difficult to write in, side to side and top to bottom. All right for note taking when carry space is limited, I suppose, but I usually carry an attache case (aluminum) large enough to accommodate legal size file folders and papers; gives me plenty of room for two or three A5 notebooks, a couple of composition books, my iPad, and a zippered 6 pen case, plus document copies I acquire during a workday.

I like A5 or a little smaller for my journal and A4 for my visual diary as I paste pictures and other stuff into this and find it easier.

Clairefontaine 6.5 x 8.25. French ruled always seem to be available on sale for under 3 bucks. Perfect carry size that is just comfortable enough for long writing sessions.

A5 hands down. All my full journals are that side. I prefer either hard covers or soft covers.

I'm using the cloth bound Clairefontaine right now. It's not my favourite...there seems to be coating issues (some places, the coating is thick for the ink to bead up and for the nib to skid). I'm pretty disappointed. I'll try a B6 Apica CD and see if the paper is better.

You could try this one - perfectly sized (and formatted) for to fit in your suit's breast pocket.

I've lately found that the B5 size suits me best. The pages are large enough for me to get expansive with ideas, but small enough that I can fill up a page fairly quickly.

I have an Apica CA-10 for fiction, and a PaperForFountainPens Tomoe River journal. I highly recommend both!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
