Present test ink De Atramentis dedicated Sherlock Holmes. Ink very well written, pen glides nicely after page. No bleed through and good drying time, it is the color of the most important assets of ink. This is in compliance. Although color is a matter of taste, but this is perfectly suited for me. I would recommend fans of blue-black.

I have a De atramentis Wilhelm II ink too Rust brown.... Will review it soon

 

The boook was written by Australian born Cabridge profeessor Christopher Clark... (Speaks perfektes Deutsch too) Also odered his Book The Iron Kingdom... Rise and Fall of Prussia...

I bought this ink for the Sherlock Holmes name. It's also called Night Blue. It's a great dark blue that could be mistaken for black especially in F and EF nibs. Even though I bought it purely for the name, I do like the color.

I tried this ink early on in my foray onto FPN, based on a review someone had done. But I found I didn't really care for the color. It just didn't seem to have the "oomph" (for lack of a better word) that I was looking for at the time.

Thanks for the review, though. There are probably people for whom this is the ideal blue-black.

If I could only have 1 blue, this would be it. After 1 hr of writing I ordered another bottle. The name doesn't hurt either.

If I may answer that. It's the Muenchner Fraktur by Manfred Klein.

It's a Freefont.

Very Very awesome Review

 

I am working on a great comarison of ALL De Atramentis Standard inks.

 

I will have to look up on what ink this great Sherlock Holmes ink based

 

Judig from the scren I'lld Say De Atramentis Indigo.

 

As Soon as the Comparison off all inks is published I will give the opportunity to request a postcard written with the inks you would like to see in real.

The bottle indicates Night Blue as the alternate name. I looked at the De Atramentis website color chart. No Night Blue, but there was a Midnight Blue.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
