How would an M200 Anthracite demo look with silver

My amber demonstrator has gold trim; the color combination is quite nice as the two complement each other. I always thought the gold looked a little out of place on the anthracite. It would be really neat to get one in silver trim so the colors complement each other just like on the amber, but I fear doing this custom modification to an already out of production pen would be impractical. Or would it?

Here's a quick approximation of how I think it would look:

Nice, did you photoshop that yourself?

I really wish all of the M200 demos were available with silver trim. I own the blue demo, and while it looks great with the gold trim, I think it would look outstanding with silver trim. Its funny I was just thinking about this a couple weeks ago, apparently I'm not the only one who feels silver trim would be a great option on these demos.

Absolutely. Gold trim is sort of classic but, apart from my wedding ring, gold is not a metal I use, wear or even carry very often.

Yes; I found a pic, selected the gold areas and desaturated them.

Nice to hear that others feel the same way about the silver!

I'm awaiting arrival of an anthracite M200 (first Pelikan!). I love the gold color. Just like gold and black go well together, I think the gold and gray do too.

On some of the other colored demonstrators, silver would look better...

Couldn't the silver trim be taken from an M215? perhaps a broken one could be found and just take the trim and nib.

It looks cheap to me, but then silver furnishing have always looked cheap. I held the gold trimmed one up along side your picture and it looked even cheaper. It would be interesting to see how they would sell if Pelikan would run off a batch.

YMMV

Oh God, then I'd have to get 'em all.

Actually I didn't think about that. blink.gif I still have to get the red, green, and anthracite with gold trim, much less buying all the rest with silver trim. unsure.gif

I do have the M205, and it looks sharp.

"The colorless demo just came out with silver trim. Perhaps the other colors are in the pipeline? I hope so, I'm a big demo fan!"

I'm unfamiliar with this. Where are you seeing that?

It came out last fall, and I think it sold out pretty quick.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
