Hi FPN :-)

I'm looking for a leather cover for my A4+ notebooks.

I have looked everywhere (apprantly not) but I didn't find anything.

Does anyone has a suggestion for an A4+ leather cover ?

I think Oberon do an A4 size cover. They aren't cheap and the book inserts are useless for fountain pens, but the quality and beauty of their covers are second to none (no affiliation, I just really like the ones I have bought from them).

You might see if Gfeller will make you a custom one or if they have one.

+1 for gfeller. I have a couple of A4 covers made to suit Clairefontaine A4 spiral notebooks. They're great.

Thanks guys.

The problem is: I live in Denmark and the customs policy is very strict. And 100 $ purchase can easily cause 200 $ in customs duty.

Mark Cross cross made some beautiful stuff back in the 80's. I have a black leather pad holder in A4 sizing. It takes the A4 short legal pads. I used to use it in my work as a financial adviser but it sat in a closet for almost 20 years until I just pressed it back into service.

Very much like this Bosca version: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bosca-Old-Leather-8-5-x-11-Legal-Pad-Cover-in-Cognac-/141353779086?pt=US_Men_s_Accessories&hash=item20e9577f8e

If you google leather portfolio, you might come up with some decent choices. Levenger has a few.

Within the European Union, you might consider the elegant and simple covers made by Cathian in the UK, for example here, and here.

I have no affiliation, but am a very satisfied customer and user.

Try this apple, https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/275250-a4-the-85x11-blank-leatherette-journal-cover/

Best take a look at the original sites for exact pricing. I am not sure the shipping cost will reflect the same where you are located.

Just a small note: I am using the Clairefontaine notebooks that are shown but the covers for this particular notebook is glossy and a bit sleek so the notebook cover slips out a little from the sleeves of the leatherette notebook holder when you open it. I am currently waiting for an order from Kyotobungaya for a couple A4 Life Notebooks. I mistakenly purchased a vertical opening A4 Life Notebook from Amazon but I really like the smooth texture and weight of this paper; and, I now desire the roughness of the cardboard cover it has. The cardboard cover of the A4 Life Notebook has the friction to stay inside the Leatherette covers and not slip out. If you choose to purchase this A4 Life Notebook make sure the black binding is on the left and opens like the average book; the ones without the black binding open from the top and do not fit in the A4 leatherette covers mentioned. Remember to find the type of notebook with the paper that works best with your fountain pen first to determine the type of "A4 Leather (or leatherette) cover" you wish for. The quality of the notebook paper will matter the most when it comes to one's overall satisfaction. Some covers are made to fit thicker type journals and will not adapt to holding today's slimmer notebooks made particularly for the fountain pens.

I have not seen your reply until now and I'm glad I did, the cover looks nice!

But there is only one picture of the cover.. hmm...

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
