Platinum Or Gold?

I would take any of the above, honestly, but I do like gold over platinum. Many metals look like silver and platinum. Gold is special in my humble opinion.

Platinun also is more consistent in the pen's trim. With gold, the clip seems to have a richer gold color than the cap band rings but the Platinum trim is all uniform. The clip has the same plating as the cap bands. I also think Platinum has a certain 'glow' or 'sheen' to it that silver or white gold doesn't possess!

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Platinum & silver.

That Rhodium-plated 149 that was posted a week or so ago was beautiful. I think the 149 looks more refined in something other than gold, but what do I know and who cares. I don't think they are hurting for sales.

I prefer chrome/silver in everything and own nothing else in gold. My first Duofold Centennial had gold trim and I remember wishing it was chrome while I owned it.

Last year, I got a very good buy on another Duofold, black with platinum and it was the biggest mistake I ever made as far as pens go. It just looks wrong. Any MBs will be gold.

Things change, people too.
