Conklin's Mark Twain Crescent filler. I know I might get lynched for this, but I really like it; the size, the design, the mad filling mechanism, the silly signature and the faux chased rubber design. It's tempting to choose a vintage Conklin, but sadly I only own quite small vintage Conklin's and I like big pens.

Actually the best pen is the one with the grenade on 007 Goldeneye movie with the 3 second fuse when clicked 3 times, but I am pretty sure that's a ballpoint :D

Noodler's Konrad, flex. Haven't tried them with "regular" nibs but I'm sure once I invest in a nib set I'll be hooked. My favorite pen to tinker with, ink on my hands and all. Affordable and in many attractive colors.

Lamy Safari, all nib sizes have them all just hate that everything is proprietary (converters, cartridges, can't turn it into an eyedropper because of the window hole... fun new color to collect every year and great writing pens, on the cheap side which I love, but my secondary mostly for drawing pens)

Waterman Kultur, not gonna lie, these pens are amazing but I mostly love the Tomb Raider/Laura Croft series ones I've collected. I have two in green/blue/Laura in the water (one for the vault and one for daily use), 3 of the red (one for the vault, one for daily use, and a rollerball for parts should something happen to my daily... though I sometimes consider using it as an actual pen. Sometimes. And one in the white for the vault. If I get another I'll use one in my rotation but I don't see them often online. There is a brown I've seen here on FPN once and haven't managed to catch on Ebay yet. Someday *sigh* Lara was a childhood here for me.)

I have tried Noodler's nib creepers, Pilot 78G & Pilot Plumix, Platinum 3776 Century of the more discussed pens on the forums and they don't rate in my top three. Good pens, but just not my IT pens.

It would have to be an Omas Paragon in blue marbled celluloid finish, EF nib that was made in the 90's I believe for me......the nib is to die for - soft, springy, juicy and the size of the pen is perfect for my hands. I'm not too crazy about the tight piston system however!

There is no way my mind would allow me to choose an all time favorite pen.

I pulled out a Sheaffer Nostalgia today and inked it up after not using it for about a year and I was astonished as I remembered how much I love writting with that pen. I typically carry a MB Traveler or Doue, but the beauty of being a collector of fine writing intstruments is being able to go back to the collection and pull out a pen and a memory.

I suppose my all time favorite pen would be the one I am using now. That is shallow I know, but very true for me! Today it is the Nostalgia and perhaps tomorrow a Parker Duofold or Vacumatic. Maybe even a Yard O Led or Omas.

I agree with Jar. The only way such a poll could have meaning is if you had a couple hundred options AND you could get a substantial chunk (25% or more?) of us to reply. Good luck with that. Even if you met both of those conditions it still wouldn't mean much. Something like this is way too subjective to take seriously.

Grace and Peace are already yours because God is the Creator of all of life and Jesus Christ the Redeemer of each and every life.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
