Noob Preppy ?

New to fp. I did a search no luck. I m converting my two preppies into ED and would like to know should I trim the feed? If so, how short. I would like to get this right. They are my only fps.

Assuming you are talking about Platinum Preppy pens -

You don't do anything other than remove the cartridge and seal the barrel threads. The best way is with an o-ring at the base of the threads on the section and good silicone grease to fill the threads.

That way you can go back to using cartridges if you want.

 

You will also need to fill the barrel nearly full, otherwise as you use the pen, the warmth of your hand will heat up the air in the barrel and push ink out the nib onto your paper.

Brian Goulet has a video on how to do exactly that; it's pretty straightforward. http://www.gouletpens.com/Articles.asp?ID=314 I use a Preppy as eyedropper with Baystate Blue, and it works fine.
