You are not obliged to stick with the Chopin. You may look for another 146 from a reputable seller. Your choice.

At that price range I think nothing beats the 100 euros Chopin. The 146's seller wants 150 euros, but if the nib is like it is, I don't want to risk.. I think it's damaged like you said

I would not take a chance on that nib if I were you. Get yourself a good loupe (you want one anyway now that you are an FP person). You are going to want to look at it closely. is the tip of the pen worn down in some spots to a flat rather than a rounded angle and does it catch in the paper as you write? (someone got too enthusiastic with the micromesh). Does the feed fit flush with the back of the nib? It should. Is one of the tines looking like it was dropped at one time? Are the tines mismatched and out of line? Is the gap larger at the tip of the pen than where is starts from the hole in the middle? A nib should be smooth, symmetrical, and even. If it isn't, politely give it back and run away. MBs are fertile fields for scallywags.

Oh no. I agree with everyone on the forum. Don't buy a damaged nib like that. Not worth it.

If you like I can take a look at it.. But from the pictures you need to send it to MB for a nib replacement, or at least send it to someone who can take care of it.. More than 100 euros, anyway.
