I do love the all stainless Solitaire (original version), a sleek, modern, technical appeal.

It depends if it's the 144 or 146. I bought the Solitaire Doué in 144 with the zigzag etched pattern (I think it is discontinued but not sure) and even if the nib is wonderful, I hated it. Only the cap is in metal, the pen is in black plastic. It is so lightweight and tiny in my hand (average size) that it feel cheap. When posted, it is ridiculously unbalanced. I had to buy a poor quality stainless steel replacement part of the barrel, probably from a Chinese clone of the original 144, at a price really too expensive, in order to enjoy my pen.

So if it's a 144 or a 145, I would recommend to go with the silver sterling version (which has the body in metal if I'm not mistaken) to really enjoy your pen.

It it's the 146, I have no clue.

Thanks for the advise, i think your comment is valid... the one that I am looking at is 146 of which the body is resin and the cap is Silver. Now that you mentioned, i am sure when the pen is posted it will be top heavy.

You could always buy both and bypass the question altogether!

Ha ha... how I wish! If only money is not an issue...
