How Do I Exchange The Document Marker For A Pen?

RebeccaN

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got the Montblanc Meisterstuck Legrand Document Marker as a gift -- but I really want the pen instead, since I have no use for a document marker. This is my first nice writing instrument I have ever owned -- and I don't know anything Montblanc or other pens, besides for BIC. Can someone please tell me if there is a store that would exchange this for a Montblanc writing pen, even though I have no receipt? I called Mont Blanc and they referred me to this page. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you!

On here, you would post a WTT in the Classifieds section.

If the pen is in like new condition, you could go to a Montblanc boutique and see about an exchange. Check Montblanc's webpage for dealers near you.

From my point of view, your only possibility is to trade it here or to sell it on ebay and get something elese for the money.

Why should a normal dealer take a used marker in for a new pen? Especially because a marker is very "special interest"...

Thanks so much for your responses. I don't think it's used...at least I have never used it. And I called the Montblanc boutique but they said they couldn't do anything. They gave me Macy's, Bloomingdles and Saks Fifth phone numbers -- but none would do that either. I am happy to trade with someone on here if possible. I will post on the classifieds, but what is WWT?

Maybe a trip to a Montblanc shop and a try out of what they have on offer will narrow your search down somewhat.

Is it a fountain pen, rollerball or ballpen you are leaning towards ?

Were you looking for a fountain pen, ballpoint, or roller ball? As Pen Nut wrote, you should visit a MB boutique, or authorized agent and decide what you'd like to have. As for selling the document marker, one recently sold without boxes and papers on ebay Canada for over $380. They do have fans, including myself who recently sold one, only to buy another.

Interesting, thanks. I would want a pen-- either roller or ball pen-- maybe the legrand or classique. I was told that I can send in the pen to have Mont Blanc authorize it and send me papers that authorize it. I will go to the classifieds and post WWT -- but one question though-- how do I know that these people who post are honest? That is my only concern when selling/trading online. Thanks so much

There is an amount of trust involved as I've never bought anything from this site I can't comment on people's integrity but Thanks the chance you take.Maybe reduce the risk by looking at previous posts or try a personal swap ie not via post.

I've sold and bought via the classifieds and I've only had issues with two sellers. People who are dishonest will not last long here. If you're unsure, you can post questions about authenticity here.

To be honest, you may have more trouble than a potential trader, as you are new here; I think you have to have 30 posts before you're permitted to post in the classifieds.

Oh, interesting. I see that people post many WTT items. I guess I can try to wait for that.

Thanks so much, everyone -- I appreciate all of your help. Please let me know if you have any other ideas.

Hi Paul,

Who are those problematic sellers? You may PM me if you wish.

P.S. Enjoying that 161P that you sold me.

Very glad it's worked out for you, Blade Runner. I ended buying another 161, in gold trim. It was actually a set with the document marker I mentioned above.

Blade Runner has a good point. Would you please tell me the names of those two sellers as well, so I can avoid them? Thank you.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
