That's a pity. I was thinking about buying one, but for me a 149 with a monotone nib is like a Ferrari with a diesel engine. :(

Well there are Porsches with a diesel engine and they are also great cars, so why not a monotone nib on a 149 for the first time ever?

Nothing wrong with a diesel! Reliable, a lot of torque and economic with fuel consumption.

Hope these are the characteristics for this nib. Sounds good.

Of course I will share my pics with you when she arrives. Hopefully begin of April.

I acquired the 90th 149 B nib at the boutique today. At the first sight, I was a little disappointed because the 90th version is nothing special but rose gold plated and 90 engraved on the nib, and the original 1924 set box. However, I really like the rose gold nib, and the redesigned engravings ,especially the numbers 90.The staff said there will be rose gold heritage version later but with normal engravings on the nib, which makes the 90th special edition less collectable.

That seems to be a bit underwhelming. I don't think I will be in a rush to jump on this one. I am interested in hearing more about the heritage version eventually coming out.

In order to appreciate the sweet, you must truly taste the bitter....

I love the look of my 146 with a monotone nib so I am willing to give this one a close look before making up my mind.

The comparison of the three versions.

Thanks for sharing!

I think the 149 90th is good looking

Yes, can't wait to get it in my hands. Till that time I have to satisfy my desire with pics.

But hey that is always the best part in a search for a new acquisition!

You are welcome

Wouldn't it then be only a regular 149? The rose gold is the only difference as far as i understand.

Mb don't make the 149 in silver/platinum. It's only ever been a gold trim pen.

Thanks for the pics guys, I have the 75th anniversary and what I like most is more goldish bits above the clip and also the diamond. This one looks like a regular 149, bar the rose gold and differently designed monotone nib. Will need a lot more pics before I am convinced to get this one..

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

There will be several pens dedicated to the Meisterstück's 90th aniversary. The 149 is just one of them.

I would like to see a close up of the nib. In the picture it looks monotone. I hope it's not. The three-toned nib is what I like best about the 149.

My opinion is diametrically opposed to yours - I hate the look of two-tone nibs. I can tolerate them on a good pen, but I think they look confused and complicated - single tone is best.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
