Parker 51 Colour Identification Help Required (Nassau Green?)

While it is impossible to prove that something never happened, it's beyond any reasonable expectation for a factory Nassau green pen to be an Aerometric. Also since all Nassau single jewel (vac) 51's were made for export, it is also highly unlikely that one would be NOS from a local U.S. store.

You might be correct. But the Pen Shop i acquired them from was in San Diego so it was on the Border of Mexico. Maybe Mexico received that color. Who knows. While the pens might not be Nassau they are most certainly Green.

Parker supplied replacement barrels and blind caps in the Aero color as a substitute for the Dove Gray that was no longer available.

 

If I get a chance I'll take a quick picture.

 

This theory in my opinion would not work in this scenario because the color is so off from a Dove Gray that a customer would never accept it.

I don't recall giving the customer any choice in my theory.

There have been several Navy Grey 51vacs found. I would not at all be surprised to find out that FarmBoy had one.

Ha, more than a few Navy Gray vacs have been found...I have seen trays full of them that came straight out of Janesville when the blew out all the remaining 51 parts years ago...all NOS with perfect, almost invisible blind cap alignment. Also some Burgundy vacs, but not so many of those. BTW, none had imprints.

Folks, navy grey vacs do exist and they are not Kullock specials. I found one stamped Parker "51" and Reg T M 640244, so must have been made in England. Pen is not dated, but nib is dated 1q 1949
