Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Great review. I love this ink. A pure dark blue. I agree, definitely not blue-black. With a little effort, it has cleaned up fine for me. No staining, but as with most things, YMMV.

I've got a review I wrote months ago, but never got around to posting it. Freakin' work/life gets in the way every time.

I love this 'range' of CP/Diamine inks and the DD Blue is no exception. Even with a SF nib I noticed a bit of shading.

I love this blue! I wish I could use it more though. I have a ton of vintage sheaffers and I found that this ink melted the sacs of two pens i used this in into goo. :( I still love it and use it in piston pens, but I thought it looked great coming from a Snorkel. No dice anymore!

Thanks! Biggest advantage (for me): it reminds me of S.T.Dupont's Bleu Nuit / Dark Blue, which is unfortunately only available in cartridges.

I'm guessing that Dark Blue is not the Blue that is available in the bottle I have that is unlabeled but appears to be a bright blue. Hmm.... I hate when it's in cartridges only.

Amber, I'm sorry, but yes...today, S.T. Dupont FPs go like this...

Royal blue and black in bottles: yes; in carts: yes.

Blue-black º bleu nuit in bottles: no; in carts: yes.

Purple: in bottles: no; in carts: yes.

Again, I find your artwork stunning... and I also say again... I thought you were a lawyer... but I've heard from you and your neighborhood friends that you actually are one... your exploitation of the fact that so many inks are namely not water resistent -- T G -- shows me again and again what our inks on paper can really display...

BTW thanks that you say that they are the crudities of our day. I simply buy their carts and transfer same into a bottle. If I ever have enough time -- during perusing thru your artwork -- I might get down to doing a real review on same...

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
