It will take an oversize pen such as a delta like mine :)

I have not put any kydex inside this case as I have not managed to form a cylinder with a round end on it.

Thanks for looking

Do you need an end to a kydex cyliner if it is covered?

Maybe not

Yes, you could just use an open cylinder?

I honestly don't know I imagine you would be able to see a step But I have ordered some kydex to have a go

Thanks for the help I appreciate it

I had a spare hour or two this morning so I decided to have a go at making a cylinder in kydex I formed the kydex first then remembered it needed to be lined so I wrapped some leather around the dowel then formed the kydex around that.

Thanks Joe

The ends are giving me problems I quite like the fact that I have to measure carefully so the ends meet if anyone has an elegant solution I would love to hear it.

This case has kydex inside the lower section only but it is very strong

So I now have two questions

Elastic or leather thong

Then of course colour Natural, black, blue, turquoise, red, oxblood, mahogany, light brown, dark brown, and the new arrival aqua green.

Thanks for looking

This round case came out well, and I like your choice of the rose charm on the closure.

I think the turquoise would be a lovely color.

Thanks Kiavonne

I dyed the case this afternoon as well as two notebook cases in turquoise for my daughter and her friend I am practicing for the three pen and notebook case for Alc3261.

I am amazed at how much dye I used to dye these three pieces took 120ml I think I may need 5 times the amount of dye so back to the store tomorrow.

I have a large clean glass jar I will pour all of the bottles into that give it a good stir then pour it back into the bottles and use them two at a time this will ensure an even mix of colour.

Thanks

Michael

ps it is still wet in these pictures

Thanks Vera I still have some work to do on the design as it is not quite right yet.

I have for some time been working on a case to hold three large fountain pens and a Leuchtturm 1917 notebook one of the requirements is that the case needed to be blue.

The last time you saw the case it looked like this

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7356/12641855863_25d1979ae3_o.jpg
IMG_6690_1 by my0771, on Flickr

It now looks like this

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2715/13039038544_873d1c905e_o.jpg
IMG_6804 by my0771, on Flickr

The piece of leather with the components on it is the inside cover the other piece is twice as thick and is the outside cover some pieces are still wet having been formed.

I was very worried about dying large pieces and getting a good colour match as I had never done it before.

Thanks for looking

You did well with the color match.

It's really starting to take on its personality.

Wow, Michael! You have been extremely industrious! I am very impressed with the turquoise dye of the three-pen/notebook holder! Amazingly striking! By the way, are you still looking for a home for the second single red pen case with the stud? If it is still available, I would love to give it a new home.

Thanks Kiavonne I used six bottles of dye all blended together so the colour could never be repeated. To be honest I was really worried about dying the larger pieces.

In the end I just mixed the dye in a large glass jar and used a dauber and foam brush for the smaller pieces then a piece of cloth for the larger pieces everything has been sealed with mink oil and will be polished with carnauba wax when put together.

Fuchsiaprincess I do have another red case around here somewhere I never decided what colour thread to sew it together with black, red, gold, white, and now blue so take your pick.

If you think the blue looks good wait until you see the red case that is almost finished,

Thanks for looking

Can't wait, Michael! It is a tough decision - which colour thread. I have narrowed it down to black, or red….

You are such an enabler, Michael :D. Seriously, I wouldn't want to add to your already heavy workload. May I please have the black thread? Any of the threads would have been fine as the case is absolutely beautiful. It's akin to splitting hairs really!

Thank you very much!

Wanted to chime in here. I've had my case( it's the blue with red stitching case in my avatar pics)for a over a month now and I love it. It has allowed me to take my montblanc 139 everywhere with me without worry of it being damaged during travel. This case is very tough and has held up to some nice abuse. I love it , and I never leave home without it.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
