Lamy 2000 Or Binder Pelikan M200?

My Lamy 2000 is always inked. I can't remember the last time I ink up any of my M200's.

I had a bad experience with my Lamy 2000 so I would pick the Pelikan without a doubt. Something enormously irritating about spending $120.00 on a pen that doesn't write.

Sorry for bringing this topic back up from the depths, but Christmas is getting ever closer and I'm still trying to figure things out :D. I know that the Lamy 2000 is wonderfully springy, but does a modern Pelikan M200 have any softness/spring to it? I hear from some people that the M200 is springy, and others say it's firm and only vintage or gold pelikan nibs are springy.

Regards,

Richard

I find the M200 nib to be springy, I own 3 M200s (2 F, 1 OB) and they are all quite springy, at least as much so as my Lamy 2000. I also have an M215 (F) with the same rhodium plated nib that comes on the M205, it might just be my imagination but it seems firmer.

Pelikan! Especially if it's Binderized! I love my Safari, but I can't say the same for my 2000. Just didn't like how it felt on paper, so I sold it. I like my M200 much more. Though, keep in mind that the M200 is much smaller than the 2000.

My M205 is pretty springy.

I will gladly take your unwanted Noodler's pens. Don't throw them away.

I'll add to what others have said and say also that my M205 is very springy. It's also much broader than any other EF I own by a significant margin even after paying to have someone grind off a good bit of the tipping material to make it finer. I'm considering sending it back one more time and having it ground to an XXXXXXXXXXXXF which should get it to roughly a Japanese Medium or Fine, if I'm lucky.

With a Lamy 2000 back in my rotation, I hardly touch the little Pelikan anymore. The 2000 is far more comfortable (for me) and the writing experience is superior in every way. I like the little Pelikan a lot as it's a good pen, but every time I reach for it, I'm saddened by the sharpie-like qualities of the nib.

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
