The Dallas Pen Show was great. Got to meet a lot of good guys. I met pakmanpony(Perry). I also met blefevre (Byron). Both are great guys. My two MB I got from a man name Joe I believe. He was in the big room. I wanted to see if he was on the forum or if anybody had his info. I know he is from Austin and works at Paradise pen at the mall. Guess I should of got his info but didn't any help would be awesome.

These are my three pens I got. Joe gave me a great deal on them. The Parker I got from an older gentleman that always said it wouldn't hurt his feeling if I wanted to give him more Than what he was asking. Pen show was great cant wait til the next one

Well done, dperez. I think the older gentleman who sold you the Parker was Presnall Wood. Was his table near the door in the big room - not against the wall but the first table you came to running crosswise (as opposed to the center tables running lengthwise)? The "wouldn't hurt his feelings if I wanted to give him more" rings a bell. Meeting pakmanpony is a good way to get into your first show - he was one of the first people I met at my first show and he's friendly and helpful - that really helped me get over being intimidated by all the knowledgeable pen people that first time.

I had a great time too. Went Friday after work to get a snorkel restored to working order by Danny. Had time for a quick look around and ran into a lawyer friend and his wife, which was a pleasure. They were at Susan Wirth's. For someone with calligraphy chops, which he has, it's a great way to get into your first show, and he picked up a pen. Meanwhile, I got the new Blue Steel ink from Dromgoole's and checked out Tim Pierson's vintage goodies. I bought two from him last year that have been daily carries ever since. I barely got started, as it takes a while to look over his HUGE inventory. Bought a beautiful Balance in ebonized pearl. Today I went back and made the full rounds. Dropped off a couple of pens for Pendleton Brown to work magic on. I bought another pen from Tim P., a blue 40's Waterman lever filler that I've loaded with the Cryptid Siren I got at Lucas Tucker's table (nice to see Lucas back this year) and found an azure blue vac (I was in the mood for blue pens today). That was kind of cool because this one is in nice condition and just barely squeezed into my budget. Got a pen case, some pen flush and a notebook to fit a leather cover I have from Lisa Anderson. Went back to pick up pens from Pendleton - they were perfect. And he also smoothed a pen he'd ground for me last year so that it would be nice on the cheap pads we have at the office as well as the Rhodia it was tested on before. While PB was working, had a nice chat with another of his customers about ink, etc. All in all, a really good day. Almost a vacation. :)

We really enjoyed the show, also. Many great people tempting us with beautiful pens and accessories. Several were successful in separating us from more than a few dollars.

Yes that's the guy that's where he was set up at. He was funny and nice to talk to. You wouldn't happen to have any info on him would you.

He's local. Like you, I've bought a pen from him. He's a well-known collector and long time member of the Dallas Pen Club. He has nice vintage pens and is known to pen people around the country. I believe he sells at other pen shows as well; one of the collectors who became a dealer to fund further collecting (and keep the collection under control).

Sweet haul from the show!! You found your Mont Blancs I see, they look great. Love the Duofold, they can be a lot of fun. I had a nice time talking to you and all the other FPNers that I ran into at the show. What a fun show it was this year. I got a pretty neat haul myself this year!

I spent a good chunk of the day there, bought some neat stuff (all useful, so it's not like frivolous spending). I was resigning myself to leaving without having found a pen that needed to come home with me. I made one last stop, and there it was, on the corner of the dealer's table. An old-style Rotring 600 in black, a pen I've wanted for years, but prices have been rather steep. Because the barrel has a crack (doesn't affect performance), he offered it to me for a song. I headed home a happy stylophile ungulate.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
