Noodler's Inks Vs. Lamy 2000 Piston Fill Windows

I have used Noodler's Prime of the Commons in my Lamy 2000, no staining problems.

I am convinced, therefore, getting out there to get green, red, blue and black for my TWSBI 580, Visconti Opera, Visconti Rembrandt and Waterman Paris +Kultur..

Thank you very much for the information.. I am a noob and have started my collection about 6 months ago ..

Here is the thing, I read folks writing how great the combination is and mostly are using the pen daily. So, what happens, since it is waterproof and not water-based, if one does not use the pen for a couple of weeks? Should I not risk an expensive FP with waterproof inks in general?

thx

PS: I have just got my Visconti Opera and I was concerned about this combination as well.

I don't know of an FP ink that isn't water-based, the waterproof part of some inks comes from dyes (or iron, in the case of iron gall inks) that permanently bond to cellulose found in papers (also cloth, unfortunately), which is in a watery solution until written with. I've left inks in pens for a long time, and the only thing that happened was that the ink got a little darker (some water evaporated from inside the pen), everything still wrote fine.

bulletproof black has completely rendered my ink window unusable, not that it was every that useable anyway! i re fill when my pen no longer writes! i am sure a nice ammonia clean will fix this though it worked last time when the window got stained from simple visconti black which is surprising as it is not the most robust ink when it comes to water resistance quite the opposite.

buy the lamy 2k it is an amazing pen and don't worry about this little issue you can always take the section off and give it a good clean

No issues with repeated fillings of Lexington Gray. I only clean it every five or six fillings and still haven't seen any issues with staining.

  6. Black Swan in English Roses
  7. Henry Hudson Blue

I have used all of these in my 2000, as long as you don't let the pen dry out & you rinse well you should be good. I haven't put any BSB or anyone's purple ink in the pen for more than a day. Two days with a short fill of Binder's Burgundy (50/50 Skrip Red & Waterman Purple). I find most purples will stain converters so I don't often use them in my 2000.

I have found some noodlers ink stains either demonstrators or ink windows (e.g., konrad windows).

El Lawrence, whaleman's sepia, Henry Hudson will leave behind a neon yellow.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
