Waterman Ink Cartridges

Greetings. Are the Pelikan long (or regular) ink cartridges interchangeable with Waterman ink cartridges?

Yes and no....

 

That's not much of an answer so let me explain.

 

The Pelikan is a standard international long cartridge. Now Waterman's are supposed to be the same, and indeed I use Waterman longs in my regular non Waterman pens without trouble. But the Waterman converter has a slightly different mouth.

So probably the connect-part of a Waterman pen is slightly different, but the tolerance is so small that with the plastic of cartridges there will be no problems.

Also I think the Waterman en Pelikan carts are not quite as long, might be 1 or 2 mm difference.

 

If you want to try a Waterman in a Pelikan pen, I would say go ahead.

The other way round: Waterman has some pens that are not kind to short international carts because of the diameter of the base of these smaller carts interferes with the brass innards of Waterman, so it MIGHT happen with the long Pelikan as well. I have never tried, so I can't really tell you.

 

Finding the long Pelikans is difficult.
