Linc Bliss Ballpoints

I bought a pack of 6 Link Thrill pens at Poundland, three silver and three gold - except the gold is a much better colour, orange. Very glad I bought them. The silver is a bit like pencil, nothing special but nothing bad either. I have tried some gold and silver gel pens before and they were terrible, nothing like these ballpoints.

Sorry, wasn't thinking when I wrote the title, it's Linc Thrill.

Is that Link or Linc (one is Egyptian and the other Indian, IIRC Poundland carries Linc BPs)

Indian BPs are often of surprisingly good quality, use modern inks without crowing about it.

There are no-name Indian sourced BPs in the £1 aisle in our local Asda which write very well, as smooth as Paper Mate Ink-Joy (and similar) pens, but with EF needle point tips. These are 5 or 6 for £1, but in a NAFF pen-body.

This forum section is described as for "all" writing instruments. I was just letting people know they can buy a nice colour

Thanks Hari and general. Yes, this is Linc, they put out some good competant stuff, their gel pens are way better than Parker gel refills for example.

I've now also bought some of the Linc Glycer ball points. Poundland do a pack of 2 blue, 2 black and 1 red, usual good quality. Also a more interesting pack of 3 violet and 2 pink. The violet is like a dark violet/purple, very nice. The pink pens are a light pink but put out writing that is a deep pink/magenta.

The Poundland website says that no longer stock the Glycer model so they must be down to their last remaining supplies.

Ballpoints do serve their usefulness. See my signature

PS: Nice orange color on the pen

Ball-point pens are only good for filling out forms on a plane.

Depends, if it's one where writing is a matter of dragging the ink out, that's different to a nice smooth ballpen. Gel ink pens write beautifully and they can be taken anywhere and not worry about damage, loss, theft when it's budget pens.

  • 1 month later...

I bought a pack of 10 colour Glycer ballpoints, ordered them from India. They have a fine tip compared to the medium ones in Poundland.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
