Now next step is apparently to get said paper I ordered cut in half and stitched in to a leather journal by David. I love the look of the journal pictured.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

I totally forgot how much I order (500 or 1000?) I have a friend in the US who has promised me to bind me a leather journal (YAY!!!) if I share my paper with him. :thumbup:

 

Oh well, since we'll be doing this again.. I am in for the second round too. :P

Some eye candy .... just to up the excitement level!

(this is the Tomoe River white paper stitched into a leather bound journal by David!; I call it the Armstrong Journalthumbup.gif. It is amazing how this paper can take so much ink without bleeding through on the other side, especially considering how thin the paper is. You can write on both sides of the paper without any issues.

Heh heh. It's the hurry-up-and-wait game now.

 

I actually had to put the order in twice, as some wires seemed to get crossed the first time and it didn't go through. I ended up using the shipping company's buying service, as the Rakuten site is a bit of a disaster. The second time worked well, though, and this time they even took my money!

I have you down for 500 sheets. Keep in mind that the pages get folded in half, or even quarters. So a six inch-sized journal gets four leaves (8 pages) for each sheet of the raw paper. So 100 sheets of paper ends up being a thick 800 page book. A larger size, say 7 or 8 inches tall gets 4 pages per sheet, which is still quite a bit. So 500 sheets of paper is potentially enough for 2000-4000 pages of journal! And the nice thing about this paper is that you can make the books quite thick without being awkward to use.

Montblanc Royal Blue. It is a very nice ink, but it looks especially lovely coming out of a wet vintage flex nibs (this one is a canadian parker vac that I got from David)

Wonderpens in Toronto now sells the paper in small quanities on line also. It may help if you were curious only Basilios and waiting for the next larger group buy in the future.

I'd be in for a group buy as well. From other thread I've read it sounds like the order needs to be pretty darn epic to amortize the cost of shipping and logistics.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
