Anyone Have A Contact For Toys From The Attic?

Recommended Posts

I purchased and paid for (in cash, alas...) a couple of pen pouches at the L.A. Pen show. I was promised shipment the next week.

Three weeks later - nothing. No pouches, no email, no response to my email. Their phone isn't answered, not even a voice mail to leave a message.

Not a lot of money, but still...

Does anyone know anything about them. Have they left the planet??

thnx,

.

That seems kind of strange, Mario is pretty well-known on the circuit. I'm assuming you have all the contact info from their website? The only other thing I can think of is that he is on the road, as there have been a couple of pen shows.

I'll ask around, if I find out anything I'll post back.

He has an email and phone number on his site, here.

Both tried, multiple times. The phone number just rings... email not answered ...

Hello - Thread Revival … Might anyone have a 2022 contact for Mario? I too had a purchase (Chicago, last year) and was waiting on a promised OEM box to match an OMAS I bought. Phone number is “not in service”. Thanks!

I looked up online just now, and (according to Google) the White Plains B&M store is permanently closed.  The website still seems to exist: http://www.tfta.us and they apparently also have a FB page.  So you might be able to get hold of Mario one of those ways.  There also apparently is an eBay store.  Beyond that?  Not a clue.  I've only dealt with Mario in person at pen shows.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you, Ruth! I also found some stale links. I will update the thread for future FPN’rs if I find him next weekend at the show in Chicago.

Well I just checked the Chicago show's vendor list on the website, and Toys from the Attic is listed, so hopefully they'll be there.

OH no a few minutes ago, the address is not working:

Tfta.com is no longer in business and has recently been listed for sale. Click here to inquire

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

YIKES!  That's just since yesterday.  Anyone know if the FB page is still active?  I didn't actually check that, just saw that it existed.

I know that Mario had a table at the Baltimore Show last month.

Mario is alive and well here at Chicago Pen Show and wants to make contact to fix whatever is wrong. Please email me your contact info and I will have Mario get in touch. You can email me at psres@roadrunner.com

Mario is indeed well, and I saw him and resolved my question (‘he misplaced my address and LtdEd#’, box to follow).

He is indeed off-grid for now. He said that his brick and mortar had to move, and the land-line associated hasn’t moved with it. His web hosting company closed, and he lost his content, domain, email …

Thanks again to the FPN’rs who helped us connect.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
