I just closed Pandora, so I don't know what song was playing :( But here's the station I used, I love what plays on it.

No Pandora in Canada??? That really surprised me.

Amgroma, those are really neat pens, I would love to get a report from someone who has used one:) Can you pm me the specifics, if they write okay, I may order a few to hand out at work.

Thank you very much.. As i had mentioned to you, i have inspired few students in my university for FPs..

"Alc" is sending me a parker for a student and i was in a dilemma whom to give as atleast there are five eligible students :) now with this PIF, am going to make three of them excited to FPs..I have got a big bottle of black ink :) am going to ink them up and may give some ink samples along with the pen.

any other ideas to make the gift to students more attractive ?

At first I thought this was a difficult decision. So many people had good reasons why they should get the pens. In the end, I really had to go with the lowest postage fees to make a decision. The Hero 616 fountain pens go to:

@ angroma and rustymac40: Those Pirre Paul's are surprisingly great pens. I bought a few to give away, kept one for myself, and use it daily at work. I like how the cap posts, the nib is smooth, and I ike that it takes standard converters. That PIF will make a few people very happy. Maybe I need to order a few more.

Anyone know why sometimes I get an error message when sending PM's that says something like "you can't start another PM until..."?

Yes, there is a built in delay period to combat against flooding. So you have to wait between sending consecutive PMs. Nice new PiF, Am!

So here's two old Sheaffer calligraphy pens I do not want. They are NOT good starter fp's but they'd be great for someone who wants to try out calligraphy. I'd like to give both of them to the same person.

The nibs are broad and medium. The nib assemblies, from what I can tell, cannot be taken apart and adjusted (maybe someone else can find a way to do this though; I'm no expert). For this reason, they would probably be better for someone who already knows fp's and has a couple of inks with different flow properties, so you can get the wetness you desire. So, don't enter for these if you don't want to tinker.

The bodies and caps are transparent. The pens will take Sheaffer cartridges. They also seem long enough for a converter. They look like they would be really good ED's too.

Pm me with a short explanation of why you'd like these pens, if you're interested. I'll ship anywhere. All entries are welcome; but as I said they're probably better for the person with more inks, experience, and the willingness to tinker. I'll take entries until Friday the 15th of February midnight EST. I'll draw the winner when I get a chance that weekend, then post and pm the winner.

God bless :)

They are real beauties!! Sent you a PM :-)

Regards,

Subramaniyam

You can always level with them and tell them that a FP is a better way to write and requires someone mature enough to use it. You know, make it an object of desire, a definite "reward", so to speak. ^_~ That, or offer cookies!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
