What Happened To Life Time Warranty-?

Yes, that's what I have written above: It can be offered elsewhere, but I'm pretty sure you won't find that on the German page.

It would be interesting to know how long you are legally entitled to enforce your warranty over there (see post above).

I would imagine that it depends far less on the law and far more on the company.

Mont Blanc are a disgrace. They masquerade as a manufacturer of high quality writing instruments, but they just are not worth the money, they are effectively designer pens. They are well made but we are supporting a huge marketing budget in the price.

One of my pens is the le grand ballpoint (unusual chat on a fountain pen site!), and a faulty cartridge leaked whilst the pen was on my desk. The ink seized up the entire mechanism. Sent to Mont Blanc who said it was a result of 'blunt trauma', which it was not, and charged me £80 to fix! The returned pen about a month later came apart with the cap separating from the mechanism. Took it in and they pulled the same blunt trauma nonsense. The pen did not leave my Desk and I only used it twice. I refused to pay it out of principle.

In comparison, the service and quality of instrument received from Yard O Led and Onoto is a complete different class and out of courtesy to these two fine British manufacturers should probably not even be mentioned in the same sentence. It baffles me why people continue to buy Mont Blanc, I have a few if their pens that I bought in the past, including arguably the most expensive highlighter in the country, but I was ignorant then to the other brands out there.

There are so many beautiful intricate pens out there made by small companies who take a real pride in their work it is just such a shame that so many people do not ever consider these when they flock to buy their Mont Blanc pen in the airport boutique or department store.

That is my rant for the day! :)

I am Dave by the way, this is my first post on here. I don't always moan, I just saw the sad broken ballpoint in my desk drawer yesterday whilst I was looking for my brown ink and upsets me. Whilst it is not the best pen in the world it is nice to be fair and deserves to be whole again.

Perhaps we are living too long.

A wise man once said    " the best revenge is wealth "   but a wiser man answered back    " the best revenge is happiness "

The true definition of madness - Doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results......

Hi Dave, welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. Feel better now?

Just got one of my 149 back from La Couronne du Comte, the feeder had to be replaced by MB. It came back with a warranty of one year on the repair.
