The Outstanding Sheaffer Nononsense Fountain Pen

It is friction fit and will often pull straight out (I use a piece of bicycle inner tube to help me get a good grip). I highly recommend going slowly and using gentle methods first, soaking, pulling, wiggling. Sometimes that doesn't work and you need to take more intensive measures. If that's the case, read through the thread containing this post.

I have my eyes on one right now... you don't feel like parting with any of your F (regular) nibs, do you?

This new F (regular) is the only one I have, sadly. All the others are Italics. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I'm a fan of NNS pens for Italic writing, and have picked them up here and there in F, M and B, including even a full set at a thrift store. Today I got lucky and found a regular F nib in a stainless steel body in an antique store for $20! I'm going to put the multiple tined nib that I got from Teri at Peyton Pens into the stainless steel body, and the F nib into the plastic body, because I have regular F nibs in much better pens, mainly Japanese pens, and vintage Sheaffers and Mabie Todd Swans. I don't know if that is a good price or not, but it is the only stainless steel body NNS that I have ever found. Any ideas on that?

That is a great price for a Stainless Steel NN. They usually sell for similar or more than the vintage models despite the steel nib. I like the solid feel compared to the plastic pens - particularly the see through models. Here is one ending tomorrow from UK.

There is an even rarer yellow, blue and red Stainless Steed models with black trim!

I bought a BP in Stainless Steel and converted it to a FP by removing the spring. I recently picked up a set of the specialty nibs including an XF and B4 nib with the shadow SH4 nib.

The idea of turning a clear NN into a eyedropper is pretty cool. My concern would me the ink staining the body of the pen and if the plastic might contaminate the ink. It would certainly hold a significant amount of ink...

I'm not really here to sell a pen, as that is what classifieds are for, but I do have a NN pen with Fine nib that I bought from isellpens a year ago, but no longer use. I mostly use my Waterman Kultur Fine instead.

If any one wants it, I can let them have the NN pen with Fine nib, or just the nib, for $8.00 plus shipping.

Writing with pen and ink, is an endeavour both stimulating and cathartic.

Wow, that yellow one is fabulous! Hard to imagine the red and blue.... What a great idea to convert the BP - I'll watch out for them now. I had never heard of a set of specialty nibs - when did that come out? What all is in there? I'm feeling really pleased now about my stainless steel one having seen the UK price on eBay. Thanks for pointing that out. As this is the first one I have ever seen, I wasn't paying them much attention, but now I will.

I was sniped on a stainless steel NNS just earlier today on ebay! First one I've seen there though. I don't suppose anyone has one they want to get rid of?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
