This just makes me like my Agatha more :)

Altough making a matching pair with that "modern" snake clip they are introducing would be quite nice.

The star on the resin model looks like it has come from a cake cream piping bag or a childs sweet selection. Silver pen looks OK. Strange how your judgement is changed when you actually hold one though.

Three years ago, an insider at Montblanc, Hamburg, shared information that a minority was pushing for re-release of historical Montblanc pen designs in precision modern materials. Perhaps this is finally bearing fruit.

Wouldn't an off-white star look great on that black model? Or red?

The floating star looks odd on pictures. However, it's completely different in reality. Now I havent seen these in real life, but I had a hard time imagining the floating mother-of-pearl star on the Statue of Liberty. The pictures weren't clear. When I saw it in real life, it was something new and different.

This might be a first of a series of historical issues.

The white star looks like a larger version of the one found glued into the end of the Slimline/SL/Noblesse pens.

I've received information from Montblanc: "The black version is made of hard rubber and has a retracting nib (like the titanium) with a white top. This piece will be available next year...." A new Montblanc hard rubber pen! Cool.

That is cool.

I wonder if it's gonna be the same piston filling mechanism though. It would be cooler if it was a safety.

Here's the full pen picture of the resin model, available Summer 2013:

Ruh roh... I like the look of the resin one. Typically, I prefer the cap and barrel flush (as with my Nakaya Piccolos), but one of my favorite non-Nakayas is the Montblanc 100-Year Historical. It's just a cool pen.

Definitely want to see the new one with my hands next year. Thanks for the information.

Any idea how much it will cost for a 333 limitation? I doubt I can afford one...

I had the opportunity to handle this pen at the Toronto Montblanc Boutique. (If anyone is looking for pen 105/333, it's in Toronto.) The pen sells for approximately CDN$19,000, plus tax.

Having handled the pen, I have the following subjective comments:

1. The pen is not especially thick or heavy. I would be afraid to post it, thinking that the titanium would scratch after the cap went on. The weight of the pen is "satisfactory" but nothing special.

2. The retractable nib is stout and short. It is not especially impressive.

3. The 3 removable/interchangeable pen clips are a gimmick. To change them, one unscrews the top where the MB star is, insert the chosen clip, and then screw the star back on. It seems tacky and cheap. I suspect that users will find only one clip attractive and never change the clips.

4. Although piston-filled, the mechanism at the top of the barrel is not intuitive.

thank you for the info on the pen.

The hard rubber has me interested.

Me too. I think that the clip is an extra. Price quoted for the black resin is £650.

MB HR, looks interesting!

I really like that the threads are near the nib, now you can hold the pen any way you want with that long section/body :clap1:

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing

Where did that price come from? Would that make it a SE and not a LE.

They really are ramping up the rate at which they are releasing new pens.

The more expensive pen doesn't really do it for me. It looks quite plain. The black pen though may be a nice addition to my collection, it will be something different being made of rubber and having a retractable nib.

The interchangeable clips seems pointless to me though. As others have stated, I think you'll have a favourite and never change. I suspect the favourite will be the default that is attached to the pen when you buy it.

I was hoping to have a cheap 2013 but I can see the WE2013, this pen and the Hitchcock being on my wish list.

Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

The price came from MB at Royal Exchange yesterday.

As described to me, the pen will come without a clip, that would be a preferred option in my case anyway. I ordered one.

Thank you for the clarification Beechwood.

At the price you quoted I may just have to get myself added to the waiting list

Yup about $13 000 to $14 000 USD. Saw it in a Hong Kong car magazine.

No wonder it was in a car magazine. At that price, they must throw in a car.

Sorry for being a necromancer and bringing back a dead thread...but anyone know when the hard rubber one is going to be released exactly (do they already have a prototype at the boutique)?

Also...has anyone purchase the Ti one and can comment on the build, function, appearance?

Any info would help! Thanks!
