Wow, that resin version is gorgeous. I think my wallet is in danger.

Now that is a nice looking pen. I have to find a shop that is selling it!!

In order to appreciate the sweet, you must truly taste the bitter....

lol there seems to be some confusion here...

Is it rubber or resin...people seem to be constantly going back and forth...

Also if you can do a side by side comparison of the Heritage to lets say...149 or 146 that would be awesome :) (pretty please?)

Thank you,

Michael

Looks like its definitely resin - based on La Couronne Du Comte's listing (I'd assume the copy for the product description would have been written by MB):

Thank you for the beautiful pictures :D How many pieces of the resin fp do exist? I only know that the titanium one is limited to 333 pieces. Will there be other pieces in the Heritage Collection in the next years or will this be the only one?

You very welcome, glad to know that you appreciated :)

About your question actually i know that resin collection is not limited and that probably MB will introduce more pieces in the Heritage Collection in the next years (still need to be 100% confirmed).

Thank you very much! That helps size the new release quite well!

The pen barrel and cap looks well proportioned and is a great medium size pen - with a thicker girth!

I wish the nib is a bit bigger though...the 149 nib complete dwarfs it! lol

Great pen in general though!

Today, I went to my local MB boutique and they told me that there won't be any other pieces in the next year in the Heritage Collection. Furthermore, they showed me the resin one : it is a very nice pen, but it is not my cup of tea.

Sure is appreciated! 'real' pictures are always welcome, and this provides a very good comparison against the other MB sizes.

I'm torn about this one, I like the design pretty much, except for the nib size after seeing this comparison.

Need to see this one in real life!

Wow, I know when I have to schedule an appointment to buy a pen, that the pen is outside of my price range, but I'll be sure to admire any that I see.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The scheduling isn't really necessary, you can also just order one. It's available at multiple stores here, and approx. €150 more (+-€880) than a 149 here in the Netherlands.

The wondrous MB marketing machine strikes again ;)

I got mine on Saturday in a fine, it writes beautifully and feels fantastic, having no section as such it feels like it has some girth despite being quite a small pen. The length with the nib extended is almost exactly the same a 146 uncapped.

I went in to see the Balzac, but there was this! I have been holding out on WEs for the last 3 years, waiting for something that is a bit more subtle. This ticks all the boxes, and it was my birthday that weekend so I didn't really stand a chance. I saw photos of the numbered versions a little while ago, but thought I had missed the boat, I was happy to see it in resin. Capped it reminds me of the Christie without the snake, the ends look similar. (edit: Just seen this thread!)

I have no idea what the capacity is, but a fill seems to last me a couple of days of quite heavy writing. There is also a soft noise when you tip the pen, as if there is something inside the ink chamber to break the surface tension of the ink, like the sort of thing you sometimes find in a cartridge converter. The nib is springy, but there is no real line variation in the fine.

All in all, a highly recommended piece of kit. :)

Hello all, I have a question for all who own this pen.

While I used to use only broad nibs, my prefrences have recently taken a drastic turn and I am now enamoured with XF nibs. The pens that I use the most now are my XF Nakaya, XF Safari, and F Vanishing Point.

I love this pen, I cannot stop looking at pictures of the cap and would buy one right now if they offered one with an XF nib but it is only offered in fine. So to those who own this pen, do any of you own any of pens that I mentioned above and can you please give me an idia of how the Montblanc fine compares with these other pens?

As a side note, I would love to try this pen out before I buy it but I live in Dallas Texas and the only store near me is Paradise Pen and they do not have this pen (as of yesterdays phonecall) and I doubt they would let me write with this pen even if they did (and I can sort of understand, with the retractable nib, even a dip test can leave ink inside the pen leaving buyers to be unhappy)

In their promo flyer your prefered nib is mentioned as available. You only have to ask for a nib exchange. The best way to do this is to order this pen and request immediately for an XF. That is the way I got my Balzac without delay in B (this year not a standard nibsize).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
