Pilot V Pen V/s Cello Diney V/s Flair Inky.

Hello Friends.

 

Cello Disney and Flair inky are mainly Indian fountain pens which writes excellent with amazing quality. Both pens are refillable and costs 40 INR [1 USD= 54 INR approx].

 

Pilot V pen are much talked fountain pen in this range and similar build quality which costs 75 INR.

 

 

My curiosity is about the writing performance of these three pens. All looks similar in make. All have same type of feed and nib. Though I never tried my hands on Pilot V-pen but I saw many peoples are fan of this disposable fountain pen.

 

 

Somebody, who tried his hands on all these three pens can explain why Pilot V or any other pen is better when it comes to performance? Why Cello Disney or Flair inky is less liked against Pilot Vpen istead of they both are refillable and economic than Pilot V pen?

Never tried any of those pens. Seriously, you will find few people here who have tried these 2 desi pens.

Yeah,Pandeyji, the problem is few people here have even seen, leave alone tried the pens that you mention. Keep in mind, most FPN members try to review pens that are widely available.

Bakwaas pen istemaal karte nahi hai.

I have used the V pen but not the other two brands. I think you should buy the V pen and only after that conclude whether the V pen has the same build quality or better or lesser build quality as compared to the cheaper variant.

I have tried both Pilot Varsity as well as Flair Inky. Varsity is not refillable(you can hack it though check for you tube videos) but write very nice compared to Flair Inky. Flair Inky has the advantage of being refillable and priced at like Rs. 35. I would buy Pilot though .

Used both Cello Disney & Flair inky . PINKY INKY is much smoother Cello is a little scratchy. PINKY INKY bloomed in FLIPKART 3 years ago and i bought it and is being used in my office by one my accountant friend for last 3 years for writing cash book regularly . Still going strong without any problem. Can work in Eyedropper mode Both Flair Inky and Cello without leak.

 

All these costs around Rs 40-50 and comes with extra cartridge and nowadays available everywhere in Indias Pen shops.

 

Also pens of this Genre are Montex Sturdy and Camlin Cartridge . I read Sanyal Soumitras review of montex sturdy. Did not try montex and camlin caridge in eyedropper mode but i believe they will work.

 

I donot understand the concept of disposable fountain pen so never bought Pilot V- Rs 300.Why people use a disposable fountain pen? Fountain pens are collected , and kept and not thrown awat after use

Ok after using the inky for few months, I take it back. It is a very nice writer, decent girth of grip and writes better than my Gold nib pens . I has posted a classified for them but now cancelled it. Gave them away to future FPNers .

I second this! I had grossly underestimated the Flair Inky fountain pen. But now I see that it vastly outperforms several other much more expensive fountain pens. I have Eyedroppered it but it has an excellent feed that does not burp. In fact, right after filling it to the brim, when I turn it nib down to saturate the feed, I did not get any drops of ink out of the nib (which is usually seen with other pens). It writes even smoother than my Pilot Metropolitan (F) and finer than my Pilot Varsity Pen. 

Even more amazing was the fact that, I had eyedroppered it more than 14 months ago (with Camlin Royal blue) and forgotten about it and just discovered it today. I thought that the nib would have a crust of dried ink. When I put it to paper, it wrote right away. After more than a year of not using/cleaning!  It has earned my respect.

 

I am attaching here 4 of my pens all inked with the same ink. I am not able to figure out why Pilot pens dont like the Camlin ink. It seems to work reasonably well with other pens as seen below.
