Lamy 2000 Uk Prices

Eagle Pens

Recommended Posts

I was just having a look at the W H Smith website and noticed that they have the Lamy 2000 available for only £81 including delivery and it is in stock!

Looks like it only comes with a medium nib though. Cult Pens has the very same pen for sale at £175, so I might get a couple from W H Smith instead.

Tried posting in market watch but wasn't allowed... must be as I'm a new member?

They also have the Dialog 3 on special offer at more than a £100 cheaper than Cult Pens. Does anyone know why there are such vast price differences on Lamy pens here in the UK?

It says the Dialog 3 is on clearance, the other is on sale. Very tempting! Does anybody know whether Lamy do a nib exchange in the UK? I want an XF nib not a medium, and I don't know whether I would save money on this deal or pay more trying to exchange a nib.

Thanks

I haven't seen a new one below $125 here in the U.S. for quite a while.

@_@ that's not a deal.... If you're lucky, you can find it here for $80-100 in the US. :roflmho: :roflmho:

The catch is that the OP is not in the US, so the price there has no bearing for them.

That is a good price, other places are from £140-£175.

New? Because I've not seen this pen new from an authorized U.S. dealer for $80. If you have, perhaps you could be as helpful as the OP and link to that price.

I have posted this in Market watch for you and ordered a lamy Studio in brushed steel for £19.99 inc postage as well (50% off). Thanks for pointing this out.

Thanks for the heads up.

Just ordered a Lamy Studio and Parker Urban. My Dad can baby sit them until my wife nips over to the UK in September :)

Excellent price on the Studio ~$30 vs $68 new over here, I have no idea what nib it'll come with but I've got a 1.1mm that'll slide on nicely.

I'm not aware of anywhere to purchase the 2000 here in the states for less than $125, plus shipping. To be honest, at that price it's still a deal, 14k nib and piston filling in one solid pen.

At the current exchange rate, and the way imports into Britain are being handled, I think the OP should go for it, and get the one at W H Smith!

That price is pretty much impulse-buy here in the UK. :puddle: If I didn't already have a 2000 I'd be all over it like a rash.

Whoops, I just had an email confirmation of my order. How did that happen?

Isambard Kingdom Brunel did it, it's the type of pen he would use...

  • 2 weeks later...

Me too! I've fancied a Lamy 2000 since I discovered FPN, that price is too good to pass up!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
