Lamy Nexx, Lime Green

Zoe

Recommended Posts

I liked how this pen looked--sleek, good colouring and felt good in the hand. It started up slower out of the carton than my Lamy Safari and Al-Star pens, but when it warmed up, it wrote as beautifully and as reliably.

Comparing one Lamy to another, the Nexx is about one quarter inch shorter than the Lamy Al-Star but the diameter of the pen itself is probably similar.

While most of the Lamy pens are fun to use, reliable and attractive, the Lamy Nexx has a younger, YA look that should appeal to both the old (like me) and the younger set. It is also a fountain pen that would make a great gift (graduations are coming up) or given as an introductory fountain pen to a new user.

The Nexx takes the standard converter that fits in Lamy Safaris and Al-Stars, and the nib is totally interchangeable. It is a click rather than a twist cap and as I have been alternating fountain pens, I realize how much easier and perhaps nicer it is to have that feature in a pen one uses on the go--and go the Lamy Nexx has done.

The price is right and the look is excellent.

(The pen was won/or provided by LamyUSA)

I have one of these! It doesn't post well, but it's so nice to hold and write with, with its thick, rubbery section.

Why, I might get some more in different colors.

Great pen!

If your wrist hurts after a day writing with the nail-like nib on a Safari (I was marking exams), the Nexx' cushioned grip might be a good alternative to grinding some spring into the nib.

If your wrist hurts after a day writing with the nail-like nib on a Safari (I was marking exams), the Nexx' cushioned grip might be a good alternative to grinding some spring into the nib.

The best way to avoid this is to get multiple level entry pens, even no names cheapies, and switch between them.

I went to school in Europe and took all my high school and college notes with fountain pens, I don't remember the brand of the main pen but I had Daniel Hechter pens as backups.

Over the years, I have discovered that backups must be of a different brands.

You could get a Pelikan Future and a Nexx and you are all set for correcting, they are both available in red.

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
