Stylish Pen Wooden Storage Boxes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

Well I knew once I found this place it would be bad for my hip pocket. I'm soon to be the proud first time owner of a Mont Blanc FP, with possibly two more joining it very soon. Which lead me to a search for storage.

On YouTube there are quite a few videos with fine looking wooden boxes with little drawers to store these nice pens. The only place I've found is here:

That's a nice box and I'll probably buy it, but before I take the plunge I was wondering what you guys are using for storage.

Any leads or Websites would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Spidy.

I have just finished building mine. I have bought two plastic containers, each with 5 drawers 14 cm wide, 20 cm deep and 3 cm high. I have fitted the drawers with hand made cardboard v-shaped holders for my pens, 5 in each drawer.

A very low-tech solution but perfectly functional. Total cost less than 8.9 euros :-)

Or you could go to the opposite end of the luxury spectrum and buy an Agresti box...

Oh man!!! I just saw the price on this puppy. Uhm, not ready to fork out that much just yet.

BTW, any pix of your creation? Would love to see it.

Search the forum for "pen cases" or "pen storage". The topic comes up often and there are quite a few options, from DIY cases from cigar boxes (some people have made and sold them here on FPN) to those made by woodworkers and such. I can't remember the name right now, but quite a few people have purchase multi-drawer pen cases from a fellow in England that are pretty cost-effective, look really nice, and everyone seems pleased. I'll bet someone can come up with a link. I've also had my eye on this one:

That looks really good. Hopefully someone can find the URL.

Well, if you are referring to the photo I posted, the link is in the text just before it. However, I couldn't rest until I found the UK guy, and this is his link.

This is my pen storage solution - 3 of Geoff Morris's beautiful cases from pencase.co.uk.

Mine are black with pink felt interiors. I have a combination of pen trays and plain drawers for storing accessories. I am totally happy with them. :happyberet:

Ah yes, found it. For some reason links don't show up until I mouse over, so unless I know there's a link there, it's hard to see.

Thanks.

I think it will take me six life times to build a large enough collection for this set up. Very impressive, and yes, I'm somewhat envious.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
